What is SRHR? Fostering Inclusivity!

In the pursuit of gender equality, acknowledging the crucial role of male engagement in advancing sexual and reproductive rights is paramount. Why is this engagement essential for societal progress:

👉 Inclusive Dialogue: Inclusive conversations embrace diverse perspectives. Actively involving men in discussions about sexual and reproductive rights breaks down barriers, challenges stereotypes, and fosters understanding.
👉 Shared Responsibility: Achieving true gender equality requires collaboration and shared responsibility. Men's engagement in advocating for sexual and reproductive rights is a commitment to the health and well-being of all individuals.
👉 Global Impact: Promoting male involvement transcend borders, making a global impact by encouraging men to stand as allies in the fight for reproductive health and rights.

Positive gender relations in households, communities, and the broader food supply chain are important drivers of nutrition outcomes, especially for the most vulnerable groups. EngenderHealth organized a one-day workshop for master trainers committed to improving nutrition outcomes. Participants from 14 implementing partners, donors, and academicians participated in the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to facilitate the master trainers to reflect on, and challenge gender-related biases, and understand the importance of and inclusivity.

Gender-based violence is pervasive in India. We know one in three women around us may be facing gender-based violence. Unfortunately, most of them suffer in silence. EngenderHealth works with the system by engaging with communities and frontline workers to help women and girls to visit the Sakhi One Stop Centres for support. https://usaidmomentum.org/one-womans-determination-is-helping-many-affected-by-violence-in-india/

Studies have shown that there are many women who still need detailed information on newborn care. EngenderHealth worked with the government of Bihar to identify, engage, and train adolescent girl champions (AGCs), supported by ASHA to provide detailed information on newborn care.

Through these efforts, 531 newborn girls received follow-up care, and 169 adolescent health outreach days were conducted on newborn care.
