When Compassion Becomes Structure: The Politics of Carrying Love in your Heart; 17-04-26

“...The ideas of love and compassion do not remain passive emotions but become an active orientation towards the world. It thus ends up reflecting our everyday choices — when we choose to listen instead of trying to dominate, when we choose to share instead of trying to hoard. To be understanding, instead of otherising.

Both become political when practiced in the smallest interactions that collectively shape social reality. To carry love in our hearts is to refuse the logic of dehumanisation that sustains oppressive systems. Even within structures of inequality, individuals are not mere abstractions, but flesh, blood, feelings, histories, relationships, and most importantly, sufferings.”
