Visit of Heisenberg Gymnasium to Mitraniketan:

A team of 38 students, teachers, and parents from Heisenberg Gymnasium visited Mitraniketan for two weeks in February 2026. The study tour included voluntary service activities as well as visits to tourist destinations such as Cochin.

As part of their voluntary work, the students, under the guidance of their teachers, laid a tiled floor in front of the School Boys’ Hostel, painted the first floor of the hostel, and created a mural on the wall facing the Boys’ Hostel. They also gained hands-on experience by assisting in the Bakery, Kindergarten, and School. The Annual Games Day, organized by the Heisenberg students for Mitraniketan students, saw the participation of 60 children.

The visit proved to be a meaningful and enriching learning experience for both Indian and German students.

T. Madhava Menon, a former Indian Civil Service officer and a distinguished administrator in Kerala, passed away on 13 February 2026 following age-related illness. He was a pioneer in promoting tribal development in Kerala and made significant contributions towards the empowerment of marginalised communities. He also served as the Vice Chancellor of Kerala Agricultural University.
After his retirement, he continued his intellectual journey as a researcher, with a particular focus on tribal studies. His commitment to social development and academic excellence remained unwavering throughout his life.
He served as a Board Member of Mitraniketan for nearly ten years and contributed immensely to its growth and development, working closely with Sri Viswanathan, the Founder-Director of Mitraniketan. He was a man of great simplicity and integrity.
His passing is a profound loss to all who are committed to the empowerment of the poor, especially tribal communities. Mitraniketan expresses its deepest condolences to his beloved wife and children. We offer our heartfelt respects and prayers for his departed soul. May his soul rest in peace.
