On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Ananda Foundation celebrated the strength, resilience, and potential of rural women by organizing women’s meetings across 10 villages in our project locations.

These gatherings provided a meaningful platform to discuss women’s health, hygiene, and wellbeing, encouraging open conversations on topics that are often overlooked in rural communities. To promote menstrual hygiene awareness, free sanitary napkins were distributed to all the participating women. As part of the initiative, free health camps were also organized in collaboration with Shreshta Nav Nirman Foundation, Ratlam. The camps offered basic health check-ups including thyroid screening, blood pressure monitoring, and weight checks, helping women gain better awareness of their health and encouraging preventive care.

It was a proud moment for Ananda Foundation to be part of the National Conference on “Transforming Rural Livelihood Landscape in India: Empowering Rural Communities through Investing in People, Planet and Prosperity (3Ps)”, held on 19–20 February in Hyderabad. The conference was organized by the Institute of Livelihood Research and Training (ILRT) and Participatory Rural Development Initiatives Society (PRDIS) in collaboration with ICAR–NAARM. Ms. Vinita Vijaykumar, CEO of Jovita Milk Producer Company Limited, participated as a panel member and shared insights from her experience of leading a rural livelihood initiative as a woman CEO. The discussion highlighted the importance of working closely with women entrepreneurs and dairy farmers to strengthen women-led enterprises and enhance rural livelihoods.

The conference also marked an important milestone for Project Shwetdhara, bringing together all partners to reflect on the project’s journey and impact. The event created a valuable platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange among rural development partners, government institutions, academic bodies, and practitioners working towards inclusive and sustainable rural development.

On World NGO Day, Ananda Foundation proudly reaffirms its commitment to empowering rural communities, strengthening dairy livelihoods, and creating sustainable impact for a brighter tomorrow. 🌍

Ananda Foundation is proud to be implementing a transformative dairy livelihood project in Agra District, Uttar Pradesh. Launched in December 2024, the initiative has steadily expanded in both scale and impact, strengthening the livelihoods of dairy farming families across the region. The project focuses on improving productivity and income through the supply of balanced cattle feed, regular household visits, and capacity-building support. Farmers receive training and awareness sessions on good animal husbandry practices, scientific feeding methods, animal nutrition, and preventive healthcare to ensure healthier livestock and improved milk yield.

A key milestone has been the formation of A1 Farmers Milk Producer Company (FPC), aimed at collectivizing women dairy farmers and strengthening their participation in organized dairy value chains. Increasing FPC membership remains a major focus, enabling women farmers to access better services, markets, and collective bargaining power. Through this integrated approach, the project is paving the way for sustainable livelihoods and long-term dairy development in the region.

After trying everything and seeing no results, Savita Bai chose hope over doubt. With regular interaction with the Gram Sakhi and our Sehore team, she began to see change within just one month – healthier cattle, improved milk production, and renewed confidence. When the right guidance meets the right nutrition, transformation truly begins.
