FICCI FLO Northeast Strengthens Skilling Initiatives at Ramdhenu

FICCI FLO Northeast continues its commitment to empowering young women through its ongoing free Beauty and Tailoring courses at Ramdhenu, focused on building practical skills and sustainable livelihoods.

As part of the initiative, professional beauty products were provided to support hands-on training, while Tailoring Batch No. 18 showcased their skills by creating sample girls’ shirts with impressive dedication and precision.

The initiative reflects FLO Northeast’s continued efforts to equip women with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to become self-reliant and economically empowered.

Under the leadership of Chapter Chair Pronita Baruva, and spearheaded by Past Chairperson Saroj Khemka and her dedicated team, FICCI FLO Northeast came together to prepare 150 relief kits for affected families.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Marwari Yuva Manch for taking the responsibility of carrying these essential supplies to the affected villages and families, ensuring that our collective support reached those who needed it most.

The initiative was also covered by local news media, highlighting the spirit of community collaboration and collective action.

Under the leadership of Chapter Chair Pronita Baruva, FICCI FLO Northeast came together for the Community Flood Relief & Essential Kit Distribution Drive, supporting families affected by local flooding.

Spearheaded by Past Chairperson Saroj Khemka and her dedicated team, the initiative brought members together to mobilise resources, curate essential supplies, and prepare 150 comprehensive relief kits containing bedding, clothing, hygiene essentials, emergency supplies, and stationery.

From financial contributions and sponsored supplies to volunteering their time for sorting and packing, our members came together with one purpose—to stand with the community when it needed support the most.

A heartfelt thank you to Saroj Khemka Di and her team, and to every FLO member whose generosity and participation made this initiative possible.

An inspiring day of learning, innovation, and meaningful connections!

Under the leadership of Chairperson Pronita Baruva, FICCI FLO Northeast members had the privilege of visiting Jericho Foods and Beverages LLP, the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility behind Campa Cola in Assam.

From witnessing automated bottling lines with a production capacity of 2,100 bottles per minute to gaining valuable insights into large-scale manufacturing and operational excellence, the visit offered a fascinating glimpse into one of Northeast India’s most advanced beverage facilities.

Established in 2024 with an investment of ₹500 crore in collaboration with Reliance, the facility is a significant milestone for the region, generating employment for nearly 500 people while strengthening Northeast India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

The enriching industrial tour was followed by a delightful networking lunch, giving members the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen relationships in the true spirit of FLO.

FICCI FLO Northeast, under the leadership of Chairperson Pronita Baruva, partnered with Ghoror Achar for a transformative women empowerment initiative focused on the Agri, Agro & Food Processing sector.

The program trained 30 women from Mising indigenous tribal communities to become artisan picklers, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to transform traditional culinary skills into sustainable, home-based enterprises.

Led by Anuja Goswami, Founder of Ghoror Achar, the training covered modern production techniques, food safety and hygiene, quality control, branding, pricing, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship—while preserving the authentic flavours and rich culinary heritage of Assam.

By promoting the Atmanirbhar model, the initiative empowers women to establish micro-enterprises, strengthen household incomes, and become financially independent through locally sourced agricultural produce.

Together, we are creating opportunities where tradition meets entrepreneurship, and local talent becomes a catalyst for inclusive growth. 🌱

🧘‍♀️ Finding balance, strength, and stillness this International Yoga Day. ✨

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, FICCI FLO Northeast hosted a rejuvenating wellness morning at Ark Yoga Wellness, bringing together women entrepreneurs and leaders for a transformative experience focused on health, balance, and inner strength.

The session was led by Jayanti Chakraborty, Founder & Chief Mentor of Ark Yoga Wellness, who guided members through restorative yoga practices designed to enhance overall well-being. The experience was further enriched by a deeply calming sound healing session, offering a space for relaxation, reflection, and mental rejuvenation.

The morning concluded with a wholesome breakfast, fostering meaningful connections and celebrating the power of community, mindfulness, and self-care.

At FICCI FLO Northeast, we believe that empowered women thrive when they invest not only in their professional growth but also in their physical and emotional well-being. 🌿

FLO Northeast organized a meaningful and highly interactive art workshop for 40 children from Kalyani Niwas Shelter Home for Abandoned Girl Child and Ashaneer Home for Special Needs Children.

Curated by FLO member Rita Chhawchharia, the session introduced children to the creative world of Patterned Initial Bookmarks, where they explored zentangle-inspired designs, doodles, and lettering to transform their initials into unique works of art.

The fun continued with a collaborative word-building activity that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and communication. Watching the children proudly use their personalized bookmarks to create words was truly heartwarming.

To conclude the day on a joyful note, every child received stationery, art supplies, sweet buns, juices, and chocolates.

🌿 Celebrating World Environment Day through awareness, action, and impact 🌍

FLO Northeast marked World Environment Day with a meaningful Environmental Sustainability Initiative in collaboration with Sonaram Higher Secondary School, inspiring young minds to become active stewards of our planet.

The session focused on creating awareness about forest conservation, climate stability, and the importance of sustainable living. Students learned how large-scale tree plantation plays a vital role in combating global warming, reducing air pollution, preventing soil erosion, and protecting our natural ecosystems.

Turning awareness into action, FLO Northeast members joined students in a plantation drive on the school premises, reinforcing the message that every tree planted today contributes to a healthier and greener tomorrow.

A total of 200 saplings were planted and distributed among schoolchildren, encouraging them to nurture a lifelong commitment to environmental responsibility.

Empowering young minds through science, innovation, and climate resilience 🌱🔬

FLO Northeast successfully conducted Batch 2 of the STEM Immersion and Climate Resilience Learning Series in collaboration with IIT Guwahati, welcoming 50 students from Mayong into an immersive world of practical learning and problem-solving.

Students were introduced to science concepts through Virtual Reality (VR), where academic chapters were transformed into engaging, video game-like learning experiences, making STEM education more interactive, accessible, and exciting.

Through hands-on STEM-based activities and a unique physics-and-logic-driven flood resilience simulation, students explored how science can be used to build safer, smarter, and future-ready communities.

The initiative was led under the leadership of FLO Northeast Chairperson Pronita Baruva, with Avantika Gupta serving as the Project Lead for the STEM Initiative.

Because education becomes truly powerful when it inspires solutions for the real world. ✨

FICCI FLO Northeast successfully hosted Kaziranga Calling, a rejuvenating members’ retreat held on 22nd–23rd May amidst the serene landscapes of Kaziranga.

Designed as a refreshing escape from busy schedules, the retreat brought together FLO members for two days of relaxation, connection, and unforgettable experiences. Surrounded by nature’s beauty, members had the opportunity to recharge, reconnect, and strengthen friendships while creating cherished memories together.

From the scenic journey and shared meals to engaging conversations, laughter, and moments of reflection, the retreat offered the perfect balance of leisure and camaraderie. The tranquil setting of Kaziranga provided an ideal backdrop for members to unwind and return inspired.

Under the leadership of Chairperson Pronita Baruva, Kaziranga Calling was a resounding success, embodying the true spirit of the FLO sisterhood and the retreat theme — Recharge. Reconnect. Renew.
