In collaboration with artist Tahani Khan, we created Witness the Heat, an art installation that explores the unequal realities of living and working through extreme heat.

Using gamchas and dupattas, everyday fabrics that have become a source of protection for many, the installation reminds us that while we all experience a changing climate, we don’t all have the same protection from it.

Watch Tahani share the story behind the installation.

For Heatwave Rising, the women who joined us brought their voices, their stories, and a folk singing tradition rooted in their community. Together, we reimagined that musical form to speak about a crisis that is already shaping their everyday lives. 🌡️

This isn’t just a chorus. It’s a collective voice calling attention to the reality of extreme heat and the resilience of the people living through it.

✊ Climate justice begins by listening to those who experience its impacts firsthand.

🎶 Heatwave Rising is their story as much as it is ours. Every voice strengthens the call for a safer, more just future. 🌍❤️
