History
Thank ALLAH was founded in 2007 upon the Islamic principle illustrated in the Gracious Quran:
"They feed with food--despite their own desire for it-- the indigent, and the orphan and the captive (saying): ‘We feed you purely for the sake of God. We desire no reward from you, nor thankfulness.’" - Surah al-Insan 8-9
Whilst responding to emergencies is one of our major priorities, we also work on strategic programs to eliminate poverty that focus upon:

What We Do
Food Voucher Scheme
Broadening the scope for distributing food, Thank ALLAH charity organization aims to undertaken a more flexible food voucher project. Vouchers, in the form of monthly cards detailing both the food recipient and shop owner/supplier, allow families to withdraw food from participating stores as and when required. Prices with participating shops are agreed prior to the scheme. As part of agreements, shop keepers are ready to deliver as and whenever required by the beneficiaries. Voucher schemes provide families the flexibility to select the items and quantities they would prefer. Families with specific food requirements (due to sick children for example) benefit greatly in this initiative. It is Allah's revelation - 'The Guidance' - transmitted through the Messenger of Allah Muhammad Salallahu 'alaihi wasallam to help people navigate their lives in accordance with the Divine Will. As Allah's Word the status of the Qur'an is unrivalled and for this reason Muslims from the dawn of Islam have striven to preserve its authenticity. The cornerstone of Islam, it also forms of the basis of all religious learning. The Prophet Muhammad Salallahu 'alaihi wasallam emphasised the importance of providing education stating: 'The best amongst you is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it.' - Sahih al-Bukhari
Hifdh is the Arabic word for the memorisation of the Holy Qur'an. Ummah Welfare Trust seeks to continue this religious tradition by sponsoring students in various countries around the world. Your support provides a student with the financial means to complete what is usually a three-year course. It is one of the best forms of Sadaqah Jariyah and the donor can expect to receive Allah's blessings so long as the recipient remains alive. If the recipient has passed on his learning before his death, then the rewards continue through the vehicle of his students. 'It is better that a person should take a rope and bring a bundle of wood on his back to sell so that Allah may preserve his honor, than that he should beg from people (regardless of whether they give to him or refuse him.'- Sahih al-Bukhari
Income generating projects allow autonomy and self-sufficiency. They help families secure much needed income with which to buy necessary food and medicines. Income Generation schemes are a great source of Sadaqah Jariyah for the donor and lead to innumerable rewards. Many beneficiaries continuously send supplications of forgiveness for those who helped them start again. Since the costs of income generating schemes vary from type to type, there is no fixed amount one can donate for this project. Generally, however, anything upwards of Rs 500/- can allow for an income start-up for an individual. Masjid Construction
The masjid is the heart of any Muslim community. Providing much more than a place of worship, many offer education and are a base from which essential community services are delivered. The first and foremost duty performed by the Messenger of Allah SallAllahu 'alayhi wasallamupon entering Madinah was to build a Masjid. He said, 'Whosoever builds a house (masjid) for the pleasure of Allah, whether it be small or large, Allah builds for him a house in Paradise.'- at-Tirmidhi, Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban

Orphan Sponsorship
An orphan in Islam is defined as a child who has lost his father or both of his parents. In Arabic, an orphan is called a yateem. Of the many members of society, orphans are among the most vulnerable. The noble values which Islam has laid out can be summarily understood by looking at the importance the religion has given to looking after orphans.
'I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,' (putting his index and middle fingers together). - Saheeh al-Bukhari
