Akilam Velvom Trust's First Anniversary, Anbu Sevagar Award Presentation, and Welfare Aid Distribution Ceremony
The grand triple celebration—Akilam Velvom Trust's first anniversary, Anbu Sevagar Award presentation, and welfare aid distribution—took place magnificently on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Tiruchirappalli Tamil Sangam.
In this triple event, the trust's founder, Mrs. Sumithra Devi Madhavan, delivered the welcome address. Mr. T. Madhavan, Ship Engineer, presided over and gave the presidential address. Minister Pe. Udhayakumar, Thirukkural scholar Navai Sivam, Tamil Semmal V. Govindasamy, and Dr. Su. Seyalabathi were on the dais. Dr. N. Murugeswari, Head of the Department of Arts, Bharathidasan University, participated as the chief guest, while District Judge C. Karthika graced the event as the honored guest.
Dr. Sathammal Priya, Arima Muhammad Shabi, Mr. Wilfred Edison, Arima Prasanna Venkatesan, K. Mallika (Headmistress), and Mr. Syed Thaha Ahmed delivered felicitation speeches. Siv. Thalpathi Tamilazhagan presented the annual report.
As the first event of the triple celebration, daily utility items were distributed to elderly residents and differently-abled individuals at Aruvi Old Age Home, along with educational aid to school students.
Those who rendered exemplary service—Dr. Aruna Dinakaran, Yoga Expert Vijayakumar, Dr. Mahendran, Mr. Chandrasekar, Arima Sri Vaigai Mala, Artist Perumal, and Mr. Sivapragasam—were honored with the Anbu Sevagar Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
I. Gautham Tamil Arasu and Mo. Gopalsamy compered the event. Ma. Deeparoshni and Ma. Hanshika offered the vote of thanks. Executive committee members Mrs. Lakshmi Nandakumar, S. Sadasivam, and Akilandeswari ensured the event ran smoothly. The triple celebration concluded delightfully with lunch.
