HOLLOW FOLLOW-UP
(Proverbs 12:27).
The lazy do not roast that which he took in hunting!
Is it not strange?
When speaking about the nature of a lazy person, this verse subtly explains the double life as equivalent to laziness.
We all consider a lazy person as the person who is either lethargic or unwilling to work; but this lazy person is not like that.
See, he goes hunting, is able to get a prize catch, and brings the prize catch to his place.
Difficult assignment planned and started; got the initial success!
To the outside world, he is certainly a hard and smart worker and a role model; it is better to take him as a mentor!
But this is just outside the house; once the prize catch enters the house, the story changes; the prize catch remains untouched; uncooked; the effort and efficiency poured into the project, when the world watched, is not continued when no one watches!
Strange, ignoring his own work, his own prize catch, his effort, and invested time!
To the outside world, an active hunter; but inside the house, a lazy slumber!
Not just the prize catch but even his own resources are going to waste because of his laziness!
Is this not happening in our fellowships?
When the world watches, crusades, camp meetings, evangelical campaigns, and what not?
So much planning, effort, resources, and time to win some for Christ, but after getting the catch, inside the house, no one cares; there is no proper follow-up, no personal communication with that seeker, no focused support group, and not even a smile to that seeker, the prize catch!
Hollow follow up!
Proverbs declares that as laziness; even if the outside world acknowledges you as an active and efficient worker, the intention to bring that seeker to maturity is not there means, you are also just like that lazy person only!
Be diligent; understand the true value of that prize catch.
Pray, plan, and persevere to bring that person to spiritual and scriptural maturity; then only you will not be considered a member of the lazy club!
