A Walk into Nature

> It was an absolute privilege for the Kole Birders Collective to collaborate with Grameena Vayanashala Elavally and Balavedi for the bird-watching walk. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Akhil V.H. and the entire Vayanashala team for organizing this so beautifully, and to Manoj K for initiating the idea.

> Although the morning rain slightly affected the turnout, the enthusiasm of those who attended made the walk incredibly rewarding. It was fascinating to see the locals realize that their daily walking path holds such rich biodiversity—spotting an amazing 41 different bird species!

> A major highlight was watching the children closely observe butterflies and their larvae, sparking their curiosity about nature. Just as they shed their initial hesitation and began eagerly asking questions about local plants and berries, time ran out. However, we look forward to coming together again for an even bigger session when the migratory birds return.

Bird Watching Program at Elavally

As part of the 'Vaayana Kalari' initiative, Grameena Vayanashala Elavally, in collaboration with the Wetland Learning Centre and the Kole Birders Collective, is organizing a Bird Watching program. The event is scheduled for Sunday, May 24, 2026, starting at 6:30 AM at the Manachal Children's Park Gate. വായന കളരിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഗ്രാമീണ വായനശാല എളവള്ളി, വെറ്റ്‌ലാൻഡ് ലേണിംഗ് സെന്റർ, കോൾ ബേർഡേഴ്സ് കളക്ടീവ് എന്നിവയുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പക്ഷി നിരീക്ഷണ പരിപാടി 2026 മേയ് 24 ഞായറാഴ്ച രാവിലെ 6:30-ന് മണച്ചാൽ ചിൽഡ്രൻസ് പാർക്ക് ഗേറ്റിൽ വെച്ച് നടക്കുന്നു. പുതുതലമുറയിൽ പക്ഷികളോടും പരിസ്ഥിതിയോടുമുള്ള സ്നേഹവും അവബോധവും വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് ഈ കൂട്ടായ്മ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്.
