On the occasion of World Environment Day, SMBT, in collaboration with RNisarg Foundation, invites healthcare professionals to a special webinar on Green and Safe Anaesthesia, marking the launch of the Green Anaesthesia Initiative and the official unveiling of the Green Anaesthesia Scorecard.
The Green Anaesthesia Scorecard is a simple and practical self-assessment tool designed to help anaesthesiologists understand the environmental footprint of their anaesthesia practice. It provides a GHG-based score, identifies opportunities for improvement, and encourages safer, greener, and more sustainable anaesthesia practices—without compromising patient safety or clinical judgement.
The webinar will highlight practical approaches to sustainable anaesthesia, including:
✅ Low-flow anaesthesia
✅ Responsible use of anaesthetic gases
✅ Reducing avoidable N₂O emissions
✅ Strengthening OT waste management practices
✅ Scavenging and gas optimization
✅ Climate-conscious clinical habits
