On December 7th, we held a workshop with the children of Gully Classes Foundation✨

This time, the activity was to create original keychains inspired by artworks from the Miho Museum—Shumei’s own art museum, home to a beautiful collection of masterpieces🎨🔑

Each child chose their favorite artwork and colored it freely, just like a coloring book.
After baking their designs in the oven, their very own unique keychains were complete!
The process is simple, yet the results were amazingly high-quality and full of personality✨

We believe that art nurtures creativity and cultivates a gentle heart.
Watching the children express themselves through beauty filled us with joy.

Thank you to everyone at Gully Classes Foundation and Raja who supported us.

We will continue creating opportunities for children to grow through the power of art.

On November 29th, we had the privilege of performing a taiko drum show at the newly opened Japanese restaurant “Kuuraku” in Lower Parel, Mumbai. Kuuraku is a well-known Japanese restaurant chain with eight locations across India.

We were truly delighted to share traditional Japanese performing arts with guests enjoying Japanese cuisine.
By sharing the spirit of Japanese culture, we hope to bring even a small moment of beauty and inspiration to everyone’s hearts.

On 11/20, we held a taiko performance on the stage of the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar.

We performed Miyake and Kyuhachijyo, expressing the roaring tides of the sea, then finishing the performance expressing the joy of celebration. Perhaps it was the first time for many of the audience to experience taiko. The audience were awed by the taiko, finishing the performance with an uproarious applause.

We are deeply grateful and honored to be able to perform in this wonderful event. We will strive to strike not only taiko, but the listeners heart and soul.

May everyone in the world experience one of the wonderful arts of Japanese culture, taiko.
May everyone in the world experience the supreme light of Meishusama through taiko.

We shared a piece of Japanese culture with children of gully classes foundation in Mumbai through Fukuwarai.

Fukuwarai is a traditional japanese New Year's game where you try to place parts of a face (like eyes, nose, and mouth) onto a blank face while blindfolded.
It always ends in lots of laughter!!

The kids created their own facial parts, guided each other with laughter, and made such joyful works of art.
It was a beautiful moment of creativity, connection, and cultural exchange. 🎨💖

Taiko class at Shumei Center Mumbai

On October 18th, 25th, we held a Taiko class.
We first practiced simple rhythms then challenged ourselves to learn a piece called "Osuwa"
Enriching our sense of music and our spirit through the powerful beat of Taiko drums, we then shared jyorei to those who felt free to receive it.
We challenged ourselves to learn a new piece and enriched our soul and spirit.

From August to September, we had the opportunity to do some activities together with Japanese university students from AISEC.
.ndia_ .in

They dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to various activities at the Gully Classes Foundation, such as educational support, workshops, and selling diyas.
Through our own experiences at the Gully Classes Foundation, we were also able to collaborate with them in several meaningful activities:
* Craft sessions at the Gully Classes Foundation

* Volunteering at the community event organized by Buy Food With Plastic India

* Cultural exchange and origami sessions at the Junoon Foundation

These activities gave us valuable opportunities to connect with NGO staff and children.
For us, for the Japanese students, and for the NGO members, these experiences became wonderful opportunities—steps toward a brighter future. We are truly grateful.
Although they have now returned to Japan, we hope to continue encouraging and supporting one another across borders.

We started one of our main activities - Natural Agriculture - in Aarey Forest, Mumbai.
Thanks to the generous support of the Waghoba Habitat Foundation and Vanita Tai, a resident of Aarey Forest, who kindly offered us land, we were given this wonderful opportunity. We are truly grateful.foundation .valsan

We began by cleaning the land and preparing the soil, and we have now planted seeds of tomatoes, cucumbers, shish*to pepper, and okra in 3rd July.
Moving forward, we plan to plant seeds native indian crops, improve the soil, and invite volunteers to join us for activities twice a week.

In harmony with the beautiful nature of Aarey Forest, we look forward to learning from the crops and working together with many people through natural farming.
