Sikkim Mathematical Society congratulates it’s member Bishal Bhandari on successfully completing his Ph.D. in Mathematics with the thesis titled “Some Aspects of Topological and Generalized Topological Spaces and Their Allied Structures in Fuzzy Settings.” His research was carried out under the guidance of Professor Pankaj Chettri and focuses on topology, generalized topological spaces, fuzzy topology, and related mathematical structures, contributing to ongoing research in these areas.

Born and brought up in Lower B**g B***y, Kalimpong, Bishal completed his schooling from Kumudini Homes, Kalimpong. He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics from the University of North Bengal and subsequently completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mathematics from Sikkim University.

Apart from his doctoral achievement, he successfully qualified the West Bengal State Eligibility Test (WBSET) in 2023, reflecting his strong academic foundation and commitment to higher education.

In addition to his research activities, Bishal has actively contributed to the mathematical community in Sikkim through mentoring and academic outreach. He has mentored junior participants in the Indian National Mathematics Olympiad Training Camp (INMOTC) and has also served as a mentor in the Mathematics Training and Talent Search (MTTS) programme, guiding and encouraging young students in Sikkim with an interest in mathematics.

His achievement reflects years of dedication and hard work, bringing pride to his family and community while inspiring young students to pursue higher education and research in mathematics.

Sikkim Mathematical Society extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Bishal Bhandari and wishes him continued success in his future academic, research, and professional endeavors.
