CCIK Congratulates Tariq Ghani on Election as Vice President of J&K Hoteliers Club
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK) has extended heartfelt congratulations to its President, Tariq Ghani, on his election as Vice President of the J&K Hoteliers Club.
The election was held during an amalgamated meeting conducted under the banner of the jk hotliers club , where members participated in the voting process with enthusiasm and unity. Senior hotelier Mushtaq Chaya was elected as the President of the J&K Hoteliers Club, while Tariq Ghani secured a majority mandate for the post of Vice President.
Members of CCIK described the development as a significant achievement for the business and hospitality sector of Jammu and Kashmir. They appreciated Ghani’s leadership, dedication, and contribution towards strengthening the trade, tourism, and hospitality ecosystem in the region.

Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir (CCIK) Meets Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor at Lok Bhawan

Srinagar, May 4, 2026:
A high-level delegation of the Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir (CCIK), led by its President Mr. Tariq Ghani, today called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, at Lok Bhawan to discuss pressing economic, industrial, and policy matters affecting the business community across the region.

Key Highlights of the Discussion
The delegation appreciated the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s leadership, particularly initiatives such as the Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, and reiterated CCIK’s support for building a drug-free society. The Chamber also proposed establishing rehabilitation centers in every district to support affected individuals.

CCIK raised several critical issues impacting businesses and industries, including:

Land Acquisition & Compensation: Urgent need for fair and transparent compensation mechanisms for affected stakeholders.
Master Plan 2035: Concerns over restrictive policies affecting land use and economic activity, with recommendations for balanced development.
Ease of Doing Business: Simplification of hotel renewals, CLU processes, and faster regulatory approvals.
MSME Challenges: Immediate resolution of delayed payments to ensure financial stability of small businesses.
Tourism Development: Opening new destinations, improving infrastructure, and addressing regulatory bottlenecks.
Sustainable Growth: Promotion of solar energy, EV infrastructure, and eco-friendly industrial practices.
Industrial Development: Upgradation of industrial estates and transparent allotment processes.
Handicrafts Protection: Mandatory GI tagging and strict differentiation between handmade and machine-made products to preserve authenticity.
Revival of Carpet Industry: Focused support for one of Kashmir’s traditional economic pillars.
Commitment to Collaborative Growth
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured the delegation that the concerns would be examined for appropriate action.

Speaking after the meeting, President Mr. Tariq Ghani emphasized that CCIK remains committed to working closely with the administration to ensure balanced economic development, protection of traditional industries, and improved ease of doing business in Jammu & Kashmir.
