CCIK Delegation Meets J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee; Discusses Key Issues of Trade & Industry
Srinagar, July 28: A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir (CCIK), led by its President Mr. Tariq Ghani, called on Mr. Amitava Chatterjee, Managing Director & CEO of J&K Bank, at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarter to discuss a range of issues concerning the business community and to strengthen coordination between the banking sector and trade bodies.
The CCIK delegation comprised President Mr. Tariq Ghani, Vice President Mr. M.M. Hussain, Secretary General Mr. Shah Adnan, Joint Secretary Mr. Atif Khan, and Convener Mr. Umar Jan Wani.
The delegation held a detailed interaction with the senior management of J&K Bank, including:

During the meeting, the CCIK delegation highlighted several issues affecting the trade and industrial sectors. These included improved access to credit for MSMEs, faster processing of loan proposals, enhancement of customer service, promotion of ease of doing business, strengthening of digital banking services, and the introduction of more business-friendly banking solutions to support economic growth in Jammu & Kashmir.
The Chamber also urged J&K Bank to introduce a One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for Non-Performing Asset (NPA) accounts with a validity period of one year, enabling stressed business units to regularize their accounts and revive their operations.
The delegation emphasized the importance of continued cooperation between J&K Bank and the business fraternity to promote entrepreneurship, industrial development, employment generation, and sustainable economic progress across the Union Territory.
The J&K Bank management gave a patient hearing to the issues and suggestions put forth by the CCIK delegation and assured them that all genuine concerns would be examined sympathetically. Managing Director & CEO Mr. Amitava Chatterjee reaffirmed that J&K Bank remains committed to working closely with the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kashmir and extending all possible support to the business community. He stated that the Bank values its longstanding relationship with the trade and industry fraternity and looks forward to continued collaboration for the economic growth and development of Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking after the meeting, CCIK President Mr. Tariq Ghani appreciated the positive response and constructive approach of the Managing Director & CEO and the senior management of J&K Bank. He expressed confidence that such regular interactions would help address the genuine concerns of traders and industrialists while further strengthening the partnership between J&K Bank and the business community for the overall economic development of Jammu & Kashmir.
