It was on 4th December 2005, a Seminar was organised by the present General Secretary , Arogya Sandhan, Mr Niranjan Biswas at Cotton College , Guwahati and the topic was “ The future of specially challenged children and the role of society “ The initiative for arranging the seminar was in protest against the branding of mentally challenged children as "Bad Omen"

in that Seminar , Arogya Sandhan Charitable Trust was established in 2007 to protect the future of differently able persons. At present the trust has established Arogya Sandhan Residential Care Home “ at Arapanch, P.S.Sonarpur, Distt -24-Paragans (S), West Bengal where 39 mentally challenged boarders and 6 orphan specially abled boarders have been provided with care for lifelong. During COVID , Arogya Sandhan arranged for community kitchen to prevent starvation of children to the least privileged Sabor community at Village Amdobe, Bagdah, Northb24 Parganas in West Bengal. Taking this forward, Arogya Sandhan Nripendra- Lilabati Sabar Children Primary School with midday meal and without any aid from Government was established on 6/7/2021. The main objective of Arogya Sandhan Vocational Training Centre is to manufacture and sell various consumer products and generate funds that will help for life long care , shelter and safety of the mentally challenged orphans together with making the Sabor community children to stand on their own feet through proper education.
