येदि देवाद फलं नास्ति,
छाया केन निवार्यते।।
अर्थात्
एक विशाल वृक्ष की सेवा करनी चाहिए । क्योंकि वह फल और छाया से युक्त होता है।
यदि किसी दुर्भाग्य से फल नहीं देता तो भी
उसकी छाया को कोई नहीं रोक सकता है।
A short program was organised at school to rejoice the moment of Green School Award 2022.
The program was chaired by Shree Tshering Lepcha, Chairman, Environment and Land use Department, and Shree T. R. Adhikari A.D. Sumbuk BAC, Shri L. D. Adhikari A. E. O. Yangang Subdivision, Shri P. R. Khatiwara B.O, Lingmoo Range, Shri Adheer Rai FG. Lingi -Payong, Shree Yogesh Bhandari Chairperson SMC cm President Lingmoo Paiyong Gram Panchayat, Retired Headmaster Shri R. P. Timshina, SMC membersShree Rajendra Dhakal and Shree N. K. Khatiwara as special guestsguests along with parents, guardians and wellwishers.
Welcome speech was given by Shree M. N. Adhikari, Headmaster In-Charge of the school. In his address he thanked SMC'S, Panchayats, Parents and guardians for their unconditional support to school. He on behalf of the school put forth warm gratitude to former Headmaster Shri Suraj Kumar Sharma sir for initial initiatives taken. He said,
"Success came after long endurance and we have to keep up the good work in future too."
The gathering was addressed by A.E.O. Yangang Shree L. D. Adhikari. He congratulated the school on behalf of the Yangang Sub Division for this achievement and hope for the best in days to come. He talked about implementation of recent 'Jolly Phonics'training in the school.
Further the gathering was addressed by SMC President, who congratulated the school family on behalf of Lingmoo Paiyong Gram Panchayat. He stressed on keeping up of the repo of the school continuously.
The Chief Guest of today's program offered khadas to newly appointed teachers and welcomed them. In his address he congratulated the school family and hope for its beautiful future. He assured to provide necessary help if needed. He talked about the expectation from newly appointed teachers.
Respected B. O. Shree P. R. Khatiwara congratulated the school family and talked about importance of plants, clean and green environment and measures to keep it so.
The program was coordinated by Shree C R Khatiwara, which concluded after program of gratitude offered by A. Koirala.

Today is the day to remember for Lingi Paiyong Secondary School family. Memory to cherish for long.The result of working hard with positive thoughts paid off. Our school amongst the schools to win Green School Award 2022 on the auspicious occasion World Environment Day at Saramsa Garden Ranipool from the hands of Honourable Chief Minister Shri P.S. Tamang. Respected School Incharge Shri M. N. Adhikari, Green teacher Mrs. Goma Sharma with teachers and student representative received the award.
Firstly,School Family would like to thank A.C.F.Mrs. Meena Sharma and her team who thoroughly scanned and visualised our work during their visit to school,guided us in every steps to follow and put forth the report for selection .She along with her team praised the work on that day too. Thank you ma'am once again.
School family remembers the
work of the teachers who were with us few months and years back and gone to different schools now. They to are part of today's success story. Thank you all from old family members. Your contribution is unforgettable.
We would like to thank State Government for this recognition. This inspires us . Special gratitude to Honourable Chief Minister Shree P. S. Tamang sir for your generosity to provide additional support to the school. This will rejuvenate us, adds vigour and zeal
At last but not the least, we thank our students, our parents, guardians, panchayats, SMC members for the cooperation and coordination that they have been providing. An institution can't grow individually. Together we can. So let's continue our journey holding hands and hearts together for better tomorrow.

सूरज की किरणें जब पडती हैं धरती पर
तभी होता है सवेरा,
पेड़ लगाओ धरती वचाओ
तभी कर पाओगे इस पर बसेरा ।
Pre World Environment Day with this year's theme 'ONLY ONE EARTH' observed at Lingi Paiyong Secondary School today with different activities. Plantation was done around school and kitchen garden. Little kids performed skit, Extempore speech too was a part of today's programme related to conservation of environment.Students prepared posters and wrote slogans on importance of environment and conservatiln. Green teacher Mrs. Goma Sharma starting the programme talked about importance of the day. Ms. Prerna Koirala student coordinated it. At last Mr. A. Koirala spoke on how organising such programmes helps to develop different talent and skills in children.
Programme was concluded after thanking all Staff and students for their active participation to make it a success.

International day for Biodiversity was observed today to instill and inculcate importance and value of preserving the bio diversity around us in young minds. It is important to preserve every scrap of natural bio diversity together to preserve the beauty of nature.
Each and every creature from giant to micro organism has pivotal role to play in ecological balance. Each of these species and organisms work together in ecosystems, like an intricate web, to maintain balance and support life.Biodiversity provides vital ecosystem functions such as soil fertilization, nutrient recycling, pest and disease regulation, erosion control and pollination on plants.
Short speeches on importance of the day were given by teachers Mr. Roshan Acharya and Mr. Saugat Sharma. Ms. Bidhya Koirala, Ms. Ashmita Adhikari and Master Akash Ganga Koirala participated from students.
It was followed by inter house quiz competition on bio diversity.

Oh Earth! You are our mother and we are your offspring.

Our culture and heritage is so rich and scientific that Earth has been treated as mother and all living creatures as her offspring since the Vedic Period.
But the great contradiction here is that, human who can think, use brain, can control every other creatures and most wise offspring of kind mother earth has been destroying her beauty to fullfill his need and greed.
But what will we leave for the coming generation? is now a big questions to the thinkers, leaders who have to lead and show the way to keep beautiful earth beautiful forever.
As such Earth Day is observed every year to aware every individual about keeping the planet safe and sound for life to exist.
The day was observed today at the school too with this years theme "Invest in our planet" to instill the value of our mother earth, plants and animals living here, and the importance of sustainable environment in the young minds.
Different activities were performed on the occasion.
Pranishashree Khatiwara (VI) and Akash Ganga Koirala (VII) spoke on the importance of the day. Students prepared posters showing the importance of every natural resources and need to conserve.
Students were taken on online tour to forest, wildlife Sanctuaries to ingrain importance of nature to humanity. Further open quiz contest was also organised to evaluate their understandig and small prizes were given to promote their urge in learning.
Program was coordinated by Green Teacher/Eco-Club mentor Mrs. Goma Sharma.

Late update:'It takes lot of blue to stay green'
World water day was observed to instill the importance of water in young minds and value of preserving it for future with active participation of students in painting, poster making, short talks etc. yesterday.
As the world has already started to suffer due to depletion of natural resources, these young minds are to be ignited timely to create beautiful tomorrow.
Sir M N Adhikari (School I/C) and Madam Goma Sharma highlighted the importance of water to living things. Ms. Emili Lepcha and Ms. Aparna Dhakal spoke on the part of students.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2021

The most exciting post of today's special celebration is out here

Students of Eco Club and other students took part in various activities on the ocassion of WED 2021 and here are the glimpses of various products and activities like Making Eco Bricks, Plantation, Drawing, Paper Bags Making, Puppet Making, Useful products from Wastes, Cardbox Holders ,Nature Art Collage

All these activities has been designed keeping in mind the theme I this year's celebration i.e., ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2021 🌱🌸🌱🌿🌸🌿

Eco Club, Government Secondary School Lingi Paiyong South Sikkim is going to observe World Environment Day on 5th June 2021 virtually by organising various activities for the students.

Major activities designed for students are:

🔵Plantation of tree and flower

🔴Cardboard Box Holders Making

🟢Environment Puppet Show

⚫Wealth from Wastes

🟤 Paper Bag Making

STUDENTS AND TEACHERS PARTICIPATE IN MENSTRUAL HYGIENE AWARENESS DRIVE

Teachers and Students participated in Online Awareness Drive on Menstrual health and hygiene organised by ENVIS Centre Sikkim and Sulabh RP New Delhi on 28th May 2021.

The awareness drive was organised on the occasion of Menstrual Health and Hygiene for students of Class VIII and above and also open for teachers and other individuals.
