Our Story

Bonjour et bienvenue à tous sur notre page, Qui sommes nous ? 12 étudiants en médecine, dentaire, pharmacie ou kinésithérapie à Marseille qui se sont vus donner la chance de participer à une action solidaire à l’étranger grâce à l’association étudiante Emassi. Nous avons été particulièrement sensibles au projet déjà entamé l’année dernière dans un orphelinat du village de Salem en Inde du Sud, et nous nous rendons donc sur place pendant 9 semaines cet été 2020 à tour de rôle par 4. Nous vous proposons de suivre notre aventure, de nous aider à la rendre possible. Nous prenons régulièrement contact avec la directrice de l’établissement, Kalpana, qui amène à notre attention des besoins spécifiques sur lesquels on tente d’agir. En effet, l’orphelinat est divisé en quatre « maisons » rassemblant des enfants d’âges différents et aussi des jeunes femmes. L’an dernier, un orphelinat a ouvert rassemblant des enfants atteint de VIH, un groupe va se centrer davantage sur cet orphelinat. Les besoins de chaque maison sont ainsi variables, tant des besoins alimentaires et de première hygiène pour les jeunes enfants que du matériel scolaire et une literie adaptée pour tous. Notre action sur place est également humaine, nous organiserons des activités et participerons aux rénovations nécessaires (peintures etc.). Nous récoltons ainsi des fonds pour financer les divers objectifs de notre périple, nous comptons sur la générosité de tous ! Nous vous ferons suivre l’évolution de notre projet à travers cette page, nous sommes motivés et heureux de pouvoir donner un peu de notre personne dans cette aventure que nous espérons partager avec vous ! _____________ We are 12 students who have been giving the opportunity to get involved in a humanitarian projet abroad through our college association called Emassi which is already working on local and international human welfare. We feel particularly concerned by the action that has already started in India last year and we are eager to purse its purpose. Indeed, we are leaving France this summer to spend 6 weeks in an orphanage in a small village named Salem in South India. We want you to be part of our journey, please help us make it real! We are currently in touch with the director of the establishment, Mrs Kalpana, and she brought to our attention several needs we are willing to work on. The orphanage is divided in 4 different "homes" and each shelter gathers children at a certain age and one home is devoted to young women. Last year, a new home for children with HIV has opened, a group will focus on this orphanage. Since each home has specific needs, we are promoting aid in form of food and hygiene supplies as much as bedding and school equipment. Once we arrive, our action is human, we are planning activities and excursions with the kids and we will take part in renovations such as restoring the wall paintings as well. We are collecting funds in order to finance our project, any help counts. We want to be able to share this adventure with you every step of the way!
