World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026
Theme: "Trapped Behind the Scam"

On the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026, Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra (JSVK), Ranchi, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Seraikella-Kharsawan, successfully organised a District-Level Multi-Stakeholders Consultation on Strengthening the Child Protection and Juvenile Justice Mechanism at the DLSA Hall, Civil Court Campus, Seraikella.

The consultation was organised in accordance with the directions of the Hon'ble Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), Ranchi, under the guidance of Hon'ble Sri Ramashankar Singh, Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Seraikella-Kharsawan.

The programme was graced by the distinguished presence of Sri Biresh Kumar, Principal Judge, Family Court; Sri Braj Kishore Pandey, District & Sessions Judge-I; Sri Deepak Malik, District & Sessions Judge-II; Smt. Lucy Sosen Tigga, Chief Judicial Magistrate; Sri Tausif Meraj, Secretary, DLSA; and Sri Ashish Agarwal, Civil Judge (Junior Division)-cum-SDJM, Seraikella.

The consultation was attended by Smt. Nivedita Rai, Assistant Director, Social Security Cell; Sri Santosh Kumar, District Child Protection Officer; Ms. Jyoti Singh, Treasurer, Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra, Members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Special Juvenile Police Officer (SJPO), Child Welfare Police Officers (CWPOs), representatives from government departments, law enforcement agencies, civil society organisations, and other key stakeholders.

During the technical sessions, Sri Tausif Meraj highlighted the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, the roles of the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and other child protection legislations. Sri Sunit Karmakar, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC), delivered an insightful session on the POCSO Act, emphasising the shared responsibility of all stakeholders in protecting children from abuse and exploitation.

Sri Pramod Kumar Verma, Secretary, Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra, and Sri Pijush Sengupta, Child Protection Expert, Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra, presented practical case studies on child rescue, rehabilitation, and emerging challenges such as online trafficking, reinforcing this year's global theme, "Trapped Behind the Scam."

The consultation concluded with an interactive dialogue and a collective commitment to strengthen inter-departmental coordination, ensure the effective implementation of child protection laws, combat trafficking in persons, and uphold the rights, dignity, and best interests of every child.

Together, let us unite to prevent trafficking, protect children, and build a safer and more just society.

U.S.–India Dialogue on Countering Human Trafficking 🤝

The team of Jan Sahbhagi Vikas Kendra (JSVK), Ranchi was privileged to participate in a high-level U.S.–India dialogue on human trafficking and child protection.

This program is especially important for Jharkhand, a state vulnerable to trafficking and unsafe migration. विश्व स्वास्थ्य दिवस पर बिरहोर समुदाय के लिए स्वास्थ्य शिविर एवं स्वच्छता किट वितरण

विश्व स्वास्थ्य दिवस (7 अप्रैल 2026) के अवसर पर जन सहभागी विकास केंद्र (JSVK) एवं अमृत अस्पताल के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में रामगढ़ जिले के पतरातू प्रखंड अंतर्गत दरिदीह, कोटो स्थित बिरहोर कॉलोनी में एक निःशुल्क स्वास्थ्य शिविर का आयोजन किया गया।

इस स्वास्थ्य शिविर में अमृत अस्पताल के प्रबंध निदेशक डॉ. अविनाश कुमार सिंह, डॉ. छाया रानी सहित अन्य चिकित्सा कर्मी एवं JSVK के कार्यकर्ता उपस्थित रहे। शिविर के दौरान समुदाय के लोगों की स्वास्थ्य जांच की गई तथा डॉक्टरों द्वारा जांच के उपरांत आवश्यक दवाइयों का भी वितरण किया गया।

जांच के दौरान यह पाया गया कि बिरहोर समुदाय के अधिकांश लोग त्वचा संक्रमण, कुपोषण एवं शारीरिक कमजोरी जैसी समस्याओं से ग्रसित हैं, जिसके कारण वे अक्सर बीमार रहते हैं। इन परिस्थितियों को ध्यान में रखते हुए JSVK ने पहल करते हुए इस स्वास्थ्य शिविर का आयोजन किया।

व्यक्तिगत स्वच्छता के महत्व को समझते हुए JSVK द्वारा बिरहोर समुदाय के बीच स्वच्छता किट का वितरण भी किया गया, ताकि वे दैनिक जीवन में साफ-सफाई बनाए रख सकें और बीमारियों से बचाव कर सकें।

JSVK पिछले कई वर्षों से बिरहोर समुदाय के समग्र विकास के लिए निरंतर कार्य कर रहा है। संस्था द्वारा हाल ही में जूट आधारित कौशल प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम को भी सफलतापूर्वक पूरा किया गया है, जिससे समुदाय के लोगों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम उठाया गया है।

राष्ट्रीय सम्मान: जूट के माध्यम से महिला सशक्तिकरण में जन सहभागी विकास केंद्र की ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि

झारखंड में जूट आधारित आजीविका को एक सशक्त आंदोलन में बदलते हुए जन सहभागी विकास केंद्र (JSVK), रांची ने एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर हासिल किया है। संस्था को भारत सरकार के केंद्रीय वस्त्र मंत्री Giriraj Singh द्वारा “बेस्ट अवार्ड” से सम्मानित किया जाना JSVK के निरंतर प्रयासों और जमीनी प्रभाव का प्रमाण है।

यह सम्मान केवल एक पुरस्कार नहीं, बल्कि उन सैकड़ों महिलाओं (दिदियों) की मेहनत, आत्मनिर्भरता और परिवर्तन की कहानी है, जिन्हें JSVK ने जूट आधारित प्रशिक्षण, उत्पादन और बाजार से जोड़कर आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त बनाया। संस्था ने न केवल रोजगार सृजन किया, बल्कि स्थानीय कारीगरों को सस्ती दरों पर कच्चा माल उपलब्ध कराया और उनके उत्पादों को प्रभावी मार्केटिंग प्लेटफॉर्म तक पहुँचाया। यह प्रतिष्ठित सम्मान 1–2 अप्रैल को Gyan Bhawan में National Jute Board एवं Jute Corporation of India के स्थापना दिवस समारोह के दौरान प्रदान किया गया, जिसमें कई गणमान्य हस्तियों की उपस्थिति रही।

कार्यक्रम में जूट उत्पादों की प्रदर्शनी और भव्य जूट फैशन शो ने यह साबित किया कि जूट केवल एक पारंपरिक उत्पाद नहीं, बल्कि आधुनिक बाजार में अपार संभावनाओं वाला एक सशक्त माध्यम है—विशेषकर महिला सशक्तिकरण के लिए।

JSVK की यह उपलब्धि एक प्रेरणा है—यह दिखाती है कि सही दिशा, प्रशिक्षण और बाजार से जुड़ाव के माध्यम से ग्रामीण महिलाएँ न केवल आत्मनिर्भर बन सकती हैं, बल्कि समाज में नेतृत्व की भूमिका भी निभा सकती हैं।
