They say it is the name which characterizes the entity of an individual or the organization. While for an individual names may or may not matter to that extent, but for organizations or entities it is the name which is able to draw attention of the individuals towards it. The name of our NGO has an element of historicity associated with it. Our village Jalaldiwal was amongst the first villages of
the district of Ludhiana where the seeds of movement of Independence were sown when our ancestor- Gadri Baba Dula Singh came back from foreign and gave the clarion call to the fellow brethren in the village and the adjoining areas to rise in revolt against the Britishers. With such illustrious past, obviously there is an element of innovativeness and imbedded in our genesis, guided by the principle of assimilating the man who is standing at the margins to hold his hands and integrate him into the development process so that development in its real sense of terms is able to get an element of outreach and visibility. Our core focus obviously is on integrating the rural, landless poor into the developmental ethos and therefore whatever programme the NGO initiates, they form the core target audience as also the implementing agents.
