ng some social & National functions were its only activities.In 1953 the sangha came in contact with some sannyasis and followers of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Kolkata-700103 ( the then Pathuriaghata Ashrama) and took its name Vivekananda Library. In 1958 it came to be known as VIVEKANANDA LOKASIKSHA MONDIR and began its journey on the ideas of Ramakrishna Mission as a non-political, non-communal and voluntary welfare organisation.In the same year it was registered under the Societies Registration Act - XXI of 1860. Since then with the sole objective of all round uplift of the rural people around the institution has expanded manifold and has been running the following welfare programmes and projects. Unstined advice, guidance and assistance from the local people, the Government and from welfare agencies abroad have continuously been increased its sphere of activities and at present its multifarious welfare activities are spreaded on about 29.5 acres of which 24.5 acres have been collected as donation.
