The Prof. Hari Narke Memorial Foundation was established to honor the legacy of Prof. Hari Narke (1963–2023), a distinguished scholar, author, and advocate for social justice in Maharashtra, India. Prof. Narke, a professor and head of the Mahatma Phule Chair at Savitribai Phule Pune University, was renowned for his extensive work on Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and the Other Backward Classes (OBC) movement. He authored or edited 54 books, delivered over 6,000 lectures globally, and edited six volumes of Ambedkar’s Samagra Vangmaya. His commitment to progressive ideologies and equality inspired many.
The foundation aims to continue his mission by promoting research, education, and social equality, particularly for marginalized communities. It focuses on preserving and disseminating Phule and Ambedkar’s ideologies, supporting OBC rights, and encouraging scholarly work on social reform.
