Mariyah from DP 1 is not only active in her community with a strong sense of compassion but she accompanies her father for such projects!
As told by Mariyah:
As part of the Mytree Foundation - a group of enthusiastic individuals who want to help others - my dad and I visited Karamsheth village along with the rest of the group. At the village, we met the local teacher and all the little kids that study with her. There was a small 'school' that comprised of a ground level room whose walls were filled with educational posters and tables.
When we got there, we set up a projector on a makeshift white-screen that I helped put together, in order to show the kids some educational and moral value based videos in their native language - Marathi. They thoroughly enjoyed it and were mesmerized by the technology of the projector. We spoke to them about the importance of values and ethics such as honesty, bravery, and kindness.
Later we served them all lunch that we got from a local caterer, which included snacks, dessert and a full Indian meal. I loved serving them food, especially when the little kids would ask for more and more.
We even brought with us a number of toys, games, and books, including jump ropes, cricket sets, toy cars, dolls, educational books and more. I was delegated the job of applying Mytree Foundation stickers to them all. The children were so happy to recieve all these gifts, it really made my day.
