From Me to We CAS at Victorious Kidss Educares

“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. Our motto is "Learning to Love to Learn".

I acted and behold, service was joy”

-Rabindranath Tagore At VKE, we strive to make the children responsible for their own learning. The main goal is to provide the students with tools for life long learning. We build in them values, which will make them responsible citizens of the world. We also believe that education of a student is a collaborative responsibility; of the student, the teacher an

d the parent. The school functions as a learning community where teachers act as facilitators and guides. Following the same ideology, CAS (Creativity, Activity & Service) In Diploma Years is considered as an important core element of the curriculum. Wherein the students are encouraged to apply their knowledge in various ways, contributing to the community & doing their bit making this world a better place.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme believes that the the students don't only need academics and getting university ready but a holistic development indeed.

CAS (Creativity Activity Service) is one of the three compulsory elements wherein the students are encouraged to go beyond academics, extending every lesson to an experience or service for others.

Let's deal with the fact that there are plenty of doctors, engineers and professionals in this world. What we truly need is kind, self-less and compasisonate professionals who are not practicing their expertise only for earning but to invent, serve and make this world a better place.

Mariyah from DP 1 is not only active in her community with a strong sense of compassion but she accompanies her father for such projects!

As told by Mariyah:

As part of the Mytree Foundation - a group of enthusiastic individuals who want to help others - my dad and I visited Karamsheth village along with the rest of the group. At the village, we met the local teacher and all the little kids that study with her. There was a small 'school' that comprised of a ground level room whose walls were filled with educational posters and tables.

When we got there, we set up a projector on a makeshift white-screen that I helped put together, in order to show the kids some educational and moral value based videos in their native language - Marathi. They thoroughly enjoyed it and were mesmerized by the technology of the projector. We spoke to them about the importance of values and ethics such as honesty, bravery, and kindness.

Later we served them all lunch that we got from a local caterer, which included snacks, dessert and a full Indian meal. I loved serving them food, especially when the little kids would ask for more and more.

We even brought with us a number of toys, games, and books, including jump ropes, cricket sets, toy cars, dolls, educational books and more. I was delegated the job of applying Mytree Foundation stickers to them all. The children were so happy to recieve all these gifts, it really made my day.
