✨ Inauguration of the Lions Community Hall ✨

A proud and memorable moment for Lions Club of Ponda as our Lions Community Hall was formally inaugurated at the hands of First Vice District Governor MJF Lion Sudesh Borkar.

The occasion was graced by Zone Chairperson Adv. Lion Ramkrishna S. Naik, along with President Lion Durgaprasad Pai, Secretary Lion Gautam Fatarpekar, and fellow Lions.

This new Community Hall is more than just a facility—it is a space that will bring people together, support community initiatives and serve as a foundation for many meaningful activities in the years ahead.

Lions Club of Ponda celebrated the 80th Independence Day of Bharat with patriotic fervour on 15th August 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., making it a 2-hour celebration.

The National Flag was proudly hoisted by Lion Durgaprasad Pai, President, Lions Club of Ponda, along with FVDG MJF Lion Sudesh Borkar, ZC Adv. Lion R. S. Naik, School Chairman Lion Sameer Shinde, School Manager Lion Col. Hemant Jogalekar, and Lions Shashidhar Naik, Vishram Gaonkar, Vaisakh Nair and Secretary Lion Gautam Fatarpekar. Teachers, students and parents were also present.

The celebration included patriotic speeches by the school children, President Lion Durgaprasad Pai, ZC Adv. Lion R. S. Naik and the School President. Prizes were distributed to students who participated in the drawing competition, encouraging their creativity and participation.

The programme concluded on a patriotic note, with everyone reaffirming their commitment to serve the community and contribute towards a stronger and united Bharat.

[23/07/26, It was a great honour and privilege for the **Lions Club of Ponda** to welcome **International Second Vice President Lion Tony Benbow** and his spouse, **Lion Sue Benbow**, during their memorable visit to Goa, *despite the short notice.*

The Club hosted a traditional Goan lunch at **Sahakari Spice Plantation**, where our distinguished guests thoroughly enjoyed learning about Goa's rich variety of spices and relished authentic Goan cuisine.

The occasion was graced by **ISAME Area Leader PID Lion Vamshidhar Babu** and his spouse **Lion Santi**, **PDG Lion Erle Britto** and **Lion Glenda Britto (RC)**, **PDG Lion Pradeep Kulkarni**, **SVDG Lion Gavisidhappa Mudgal**, our own **FVDG Lion Sudesh Borkar**, along with the President, Treasurer, and members of the **Lions Club of Vasco**, including **Lion Vishal Desai**, who joined in extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests.

It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen fellowship, exchange ideas, and celebrate the true spirit of Lionism. The visit will remain a cherished memory for all who had the privilege of being part of this special occasion.
