How "Kartavya" formed ?

We at Kartavya strongly believe that if a child is given a good primary education and enough opportunities, they can figure their own way out to a healthier future. It hurts deeply to realize that there are many school drop outs in spite of the fact that seeking Education is a fundamental right. While we cannot possibly solve all those issues, we can at least help some of them with financing, resources and counselling. There is so much to do in this space; we focus on students from small villages in Maharashtra, doing as much as we can to enable these students to continue their schooling. We commenced activities of Kartavya in the year 2007 with just seven members. But this idea was actually pioneered far before that when we were pursuing our degree. As every member of our group came from a different background, each one of us knows the importance of education. We have seen many students who are talented but are unable to continue their education due to many factors, poor economical condition is one of them. So in the last year of degree we decided to start activity to help unprivileged students to continue their studies when we get employed. This was just an idea in year 2004.

Kartavya's footprints till date

In year 2007, we started with a very limited number of students so as to have better control over the activity. Rather than doing direct monitory assistance, we opted providing them all school necessities. Starting with just 11 students, today we are supporting total 170 students from all over Marathwada region. Planted in 2007, Karatvya is slowly growing tree. Though we are now able to accommodate limited students, we are working towards making this effort bigger. There are so many of us who need help, and there are as many who wish to help out. Kartavya would like to become a bridge between them !
