Today, the Team All Papum Poma Students’ Union (APPSU) held a fruitful and constructive meeting with the VKVAPT Arunachal Pradesh authority regarding the long-standing issue of fee hike at VKV Balijan. The meeting was conducted under the august chairmanship of Retired Bureaucrat Shri Joram Begi Sir, Chairman of VKV Arunachal Pradesh, in the gracious presence of ADC Balijan Shri Takar Raba Sir, ZPMs of Sangdupota, Balijan, and Tarasso Circles, Former ZPM of Vth Lower Balijan Smti Tem Pika Ji, parents, well-wishers, senior student leader Mr. Tem Kutung Tarh, Legal Advisor of APPSU Adv. Tem Pahi Tarh, and Team APPSU led by President Mr. Teli Sera, General Secretary Mr. Tarh Bhai, Issue Chairman Mr. Techi Loyen Tara (Education Secretary), and Vice Issue Chairman Mr. Nabam K**a.
After nearly two months of rigorous discussions, debates, and continuous democratic interventions by APPSU and concerned parents, and following the timely intervention of Hon’ble MLA of 14th Doimukh ST Assembly Constituency Shri Nabam Vivek Ji, the VKV authority finally agreed to sit for a roundtable discussion to deliberate upon the major concerns raised by APPSU and the parents.
The primary demands raised during the meeting were:
1. Reduction and rationalization of the excessive fee hike at VKV Balijan.
2. Reservation and priority admission for students belonging to the local Papum Poma region.
After a threadbare and meaningful discussion, the VKVAPT Arunachal Pradesh authority positively responded and agreed upon the following resolutions:
1. The revised fee structure of VKV Balijan shall be made equivalent to VKV Roing.
2. VKV Balijan shall be re-categorized from Category “A” to Category “B”, thereby reducing the financial burden on parents.
3. Students from the local Papum Poma region shall be given first preference in admission and seat allocation.
4. The VKV authority also assured that the above resolutions shall be officially complied with and provided in written form.
The All Papum Poma Students’ Union expresses its heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to all dignitaries, public leaders, parents, well-wishers, student leaders, and every stakeholder who participated and contributed towards the successful outcome of this important meeting. APPSU especially conveys gratitude to Hon’ble MLA Shri Nabam Vivek Ji for his intervention and support in bringing both parties to a meaningful resolution.
Team APPSU firmly believes that today’s outcome reflects the strength of democratic dialogue, collective responsibility, and unity among the people. The Union remains committed to safeguarding the educational rights and welfare of the students and parents of the Papum Poma region.
