The Women and Child Development (WCD) Department, in collaboration with the Health Department, is organizing targeted awareness camps at the district level to address the critical issue of gender imbalance in villages with a s*x ratio of less than 800 females per 1,000 males with an aim to promote gender equality, discourage s*x-selective practices, Provide guidance on maternal and child health, nutrition and access to government health services.
These camps serve as a crucial step in improving the child s*x ratio and empowering communities to value and protect the rights of girls.

In Haryana, the WCD (Women and Child Development) department has been organizing "Kuan Pujan" ceremonies for the birth of girl children as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) program. This traditional ritual, traditionally performed for the birth of a son, is now being adapted to celebrate and honor the birth of daughters, aiming to increase awareness about the importance of girls and combat gender bias.

On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day the department of Women and Child Development, Haryana organised a webinar to sensitize newly nominated Mahila Sarpanches as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Brand Ambassadors.
The main aim of the webinar was to sensitize Mahila Sarpanches in ensuring their active participation in saving the girl child and
Promote gender equality at all levels — family, community, and governance.
The webinar started with a key note given by Dr. Puneet Kaur Grewal , Women Empowerment Expert, WCD and then podcast highlighting the journey of successful women,Manu Bhaker,was also showcased. And the webinar ended with detailed information on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao given by Dr. G.L. Singhal. The department has also directed that In person meetings with all the mahila sarpanchis at district level shall be organised from time to time.
