Devrai Art Village The Birth place of patented Rock Dhokra! Devrai Art Village is a non profit initiative to connect with nature and celebrate creativity.

A core group of highly skilled Adivasi craftsmen and artists from the naxalite affected areas of Gadchiroli & Chattisgarh find a livelihood and a safe refuge here in Panchgani. The unique and distinctive style of our product range comes out through combinations of different mediums such as iron, brass, stone, wood, bamboo and fabric. We believe in empowering craftsmen and not in doing charity. Tod

Devrai Garden Story-1036
Once upon a time there was a small Bakul tree that grew in a Bonsai pot in a flat in Bombay (now called Mumbai).Then it was brought to Panchgani along with many others in the summer of 1996. When we got our own piece of land in 2005 and named it Devrai, it was planted next to the Lily pond in front of our newly built house. It grew big and had fragrant flowers and even offered nesting to Bulbuls amongst its dense branches! Rudransh even did projection mapping of Buddha and Shiva on it on the full moon night of Buddha Purnima.
Then one day it decided to say goodbye to us. We were told that when a tree dies suddenly, it is to take on the bad luck that could have befallen its caretaker. This story was no consolation!
It began shedding its leaves and slowly over a period of six months was completely dead.
Now it stands in our courtyard with a golden peacock of beautiful memories perched on it...
