Subject: Clarification Regarding the Affiliation and Representation of Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi
This is to place on record, for the information of Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF), all Traders’ Federations/Associations of Kashmir, various Market/Bazaar Committees of South Srinagar, and concerned Civil and Police Departments, that Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi is no longer affiliated with the South Srinagar Traders Federation and is not authorised to represent, speak, correspond, or act on behalf of the Federation or any of its affiliated Traders’ Associations/Market Committees.
Accordingly, all concerned stakeholders are requested to take note that henceforth Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi should not be treated or entertained as an authorised representative of the South Srinagar Traders Federation or its affiliated Traders’ Associations, unless and until any such authority is formally communicated in writing by the competent body.
It has also come to the notice of the concerned Federation and traders’ fraternity that, following the constitution/election of the new management of the Traders’ Association Nowgam, Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi is no longer representing or holding any authorised position in the said Association. It is further being reported that he has been approaching/visiting different bazaars and Traders’ Associations in South Srinagar apparently seeking an alternative association or adjustment.
In this regard, it is clarified that any such visits, representations, communications or interactions made by him in his individual capacity should not be construed as representing the South Srinagar Traders Federation, Traders’ Association Nowgam, or any other affiliated body.
The newly elected management of the Traders’ Association Nowgam has also reportedly raised certain allegations and concerns regarding the conduct and functioning of Mr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Sofi. These matters have been brought to the notice of the concerned senior office-bearers and management of the South Srinagar Traders Federation, including Senior Vice-President Mr. Mehraj-ud-Din Khan and General Secretary Mr. Abdul Rehman Sofi, for consideration and appropriate action in accordance with the constitution, rules and established procedure of the Federation.
It is important to clarify that the allegations/concerns raised against any individual should be dealt with through the proper organisational and legal process, and no conclusion regarding their veracity should be drawn without due consideration of the facts and an opportunity to the concerned person to present his position.
At the same time, in the larger interest of discipline, transparency, unity and proper representation within the traders’ community, all Federations, Associations, Bazaar Committees, Government Departments, Civil Administration and Police authorities are requested to verify the credentials and authorisation of any person claiming to represent the South Srinagar Traders Federation or its affiliated associations.
No individual should be permitted to use the name, designation, letterhead, authority or organisational standing of the Federation or any affiliated Traders’ Association without valid and current authorisation from the competent management.
This clarification is being issued purely in the interest of maintaining organisational discipline, transparency and clarity of representation, and to prevent any misunderstanding among the trading community, Government departments and other stakeholders.
All concerned are requested to kindly take the above information on record and act accordingly.
