We helped the injured persons of the Serial Bomb Blast of 30th October 2008 in Guwahati City. Venus NGO visited every nook and corner of Kamrup District and tried to make people aware against Terrorism.
2. For maintaining the Health and Sanitation of the people, who are living Below the Poverty Line we had constructed individual House Hold Latrine in 2009. We got the construction order from the Ha
jo Sub-Division of PHE Department.
3. We are trying to rectify the problem of Artificial Flood before it become critical. To solve the problem we had submitted an application to the Guwahati East Water Resources Division on 31st August of 2012. On that basis a team of the aforesaid department visited the main Water Outlet Channel of the North Guwahati area named Ghoramara. By observing the channel they measured the various part the channel and they made a basis structure of the same on 16th of March, 2013. The Guwahati East water Resources Division now planning a project which would be implemented as early as possible.
4. Some of the ill fated businessmen by cutting land from the hills and agricultural fields have deteriorated the environment of the area. On 7th April, 2013 we submitted a FIR at Gauripur Police Station informing them that land cutter had cut the land from the root of a High Powered Line Electric post (33000 volt) which goes through the Jalaha Paddy field. Later the District Administration took necessary action and pressurizes the land cutter to fill up the root of the post. They had done it but still the post is in a dangerous position. We tried to create awareness among the people to protect and preserve the nature by arranging public meeting and group discussion etc.
5. On 26th of Dec., 2012 we had staged a “Dharna” programme in front of the “Tolaram Bafana Kamrup Civil Hospital”. We opposed the decision of the state Government’s Health Department that they handed over the New Building of the above mention hospital to “Narayana Hrudayalaya” a private owner. In this case the decision of the State Government to end up the Civil Hospital is totally an injustice for the greater interest of the common people of Kamrup Rural District.
6. We established a rural library named “Satgarh Rural Library and Information Centre”, at Baralabari on 20th of June 2013. In this connection we arranged an inaugural function on that day. The Principal of Saraighat College, Changsari Mr. Saikia inaugurated the library. We also felicitated the first division holders in HSLC and HS exam. 2013 and retired teachers of Satgarh area. This library now raising the hope of a new sun among the people of the locality. More than 100 students visit our library regularly. We are trying to inform the people regarding their rights and different information through this Information centre. We need support and good will from all the corner of the world in this concern.
7. We are trying to spread education among the Minority people through “Subhai Muktab”. We had established two such schools in the locality.
8. We submitted an application to the former Deputy Commissioner to construct a Community Hall cm Prayer Hall and a Playground at Baralabari. We completed all the official formalities regarding the above said plan and project. The file is now at the “Assam Secretariat” bearing no. KDP.137/MSDP/Proposal/2012/51 dated 12/06/2013. If this project comes to our hand we will be delighted.
9. We have an excuse to the SDO of PWD. As you know that our village near to Guwahati and our Legislative Assembly Constituency “Jalukbari” is also well known to everyone. All think that all the cattle field roads of this constituency is constructed by the PWD. But, unfortunately few roads of this locality still away from the PWD, where people spent painful days in the summer season. On 14th Oct. 2012 we submitted an application in the hand of Health and Family Welfare Minister. He ordered the SDO of PWD to construct the road on the same day. As a result the PWD measured the long and breadth of those roads. But after that day do nothing. We need immediate attention regarding this matter.
10. At last but not least we have problem of pollutant distrust by the Industries at various places of Kamrup Rural District. We had made a complaint against it on 4th June 2013 in year office. On that basis the Circle Officer of the North Guwahati Circle seat the “Lat Mandal’ of the Sila Katamur village which is under Sila-Sinduri Ghupa Mouza.
