Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty are the China Masters 2026 champions!

The Indian men’s doubles duo, employed by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), produced a stunning comeback to defeat China’s He Ji Ting & Ren Xiang Yu 11–21, 21–13, 21–17 in a thrilling China Masters Super 750 final.

After finishing runners-up in 2023 and 2025, Satwik and Chirag finally conquered the China Masters, becoming the first Indian pair to win the prestigious title.

This is also their second title of the 2026 season, following their Singapore Open Super 750 triumph.

ONGCian Dhruv Sitwala delivered a strong performance at the PanAm Cup Billiards Championship in Winnipeg, Canada, securing the Silver Medal.

Sitwala’s impressive campaign culminated in a hard-fought final against Peter Gilchrist of Singapore, where he finished as the runner-up.

On 29th August, the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) celebrated National Sports Day 2026 alongside the young and enthusiastic athletes of the PSPB Table Tennis Academy, students of Orchid The International School, and children from neighbouring schools.

The celebrations were graced by Mrs. Sabeena Chowdhary, Member Secretary, PSPB, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Sandeep Sarkaria, Joint Secretary, PSPB, and Shri Lalit Watts, Advisor, PSPB.

From young dreams to sporting aspirations, the day was all about inspiring the next generation to play, participate and pursue excellence through sport. 🏓

The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) celebrated National Sports Day 2026 with great enthusiasm alongside young budding athletes from the PSPB Table Tennis Academy, students of Orchid The International School, and children from neighbouring schools.

The celebrations were graced by Mrs. Sabeena Chowdhary, Member Secretary, PSPB, as the Chief Guest, along with Shri Sandeep Sarkaria, Joint Secretary, PSPB, and Shri Lalit Watts, Advisor, PSPB.

The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) deeply mourns the untimely passing of Shri Rathish Nair, Manager (HR), ONGC, former Captain of the Indian Volleyball Team and FIVB Youth Championship Silver Medallist.

A remarkable leader, an inspiration to generations of athletes, and a true gem of the petroleum sports family, Shri Rathish Nair’s contribution to Indian volleyball and his commitment to nurturing young talent will always be remembered.

His legacy will live on through every young player he inspired and every life he touched through sport.

Our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, teammates and colleagues during this difficult hour of grief.
