Greetings!

We are thrilled and privileged to introduce the Rajya Sabha Committee as a pivotal component of Uthan, The Youth Parliament, scheduled for October 15th and 16th. This committee embodies the essence of our dialogues, symbolizing the democratic ethos and vibrant exchange of thoughts that characterize our nation.

The Rajya Sabha plays a pivotal role in the Indian democratic system. It is a forum for representing the interests of the states and scrutinizing legislation passed by the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament. The Rajya Sabha also has the power to approve all presidential appointments, including the appointment of the Prime Minister.

Poverty and Inflation: A Growing Threat to the Poor and Vulnerable
Inflation is surging, hitting the poorest the hardest, situation is particularly dire in India, where the poverty rate is already high. According to the World Bank, 21.9% of Indians lived below the national poverty line in 2021 which is likely to increase in the near future.

The government's efforts like raising minimum wages and subsidies haven't been sufficient. To address this, we need to strengthen social safety nets and boost job creation for economic growth, easing the suffering caused by rising prices and poverty. Immediate action is crucial to assist those most affected.

We want to discuss this issue in depth to understand its full impact and find ways to address it. We are officially starting the Rajya Sabha Committee, and we look forward to your participation.

Greetings!

We are excited to announce the All India Political Parties Meet as a component of Uthan - Youth Parliament, which is scheduled for the 15th and 16th of October. This meeting is an unofficial meeting between all the political parties of the nations to address the Socio-Economic and Political Challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ before the formal session.

All India Political Party Meet (AIPPM) is a non-technical but powerful committee. It is a meeting between all the political parties of the nation. Typically called before the session of the Parliament or before the introduction of a bill, this committee aims to arrive at a consensus before the sessions begin.

Everyone has a right to live in a world where they are respected and treated equally as their peers. It is so important to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable in bringing their whole selves to work. Economic disparities persisted within the LGBTQIA+ community, with some individuals facing challenges in employment and access to financial resources. We need to advocate for the recognition of these rights as human rights and supporting activists.

Join us in a venture to create a better place for future generations to live in. UTHAN will provide a platform for young leaders to showcase their skills, share their perspectives, and inspire others to take action. It will bring the change we all need

Presenting AIPPMS and looking forward to your participation.

Greetings

We are filled with immense enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility as we unveil the National Integration Council, an integral component of our mission, 'Uthan for Unity.' Mark your calendars for the 15th and 16th of October as we embark on a journey that encapsulates the essence of unity amidst diversity, and the transformative potential of collective reflection, which lies at the heart of our great nation.

NIC is a representative body composed of leaders from diverse walks of life, united by their commitment to fostering national unity and harmony. As an integral component of 'Uthan,' NIC actively engages in dialogues, discussions, and policy considerations that promote social cohesion, religious tolerance, and cultural pluralism.

NIC engages in thoughtful contemplations regarding the Places of Worship Act. It recognizes the evolving socio-cultural dynamics and the need to adapt legislation to contemporary realities. While the Act has been effective in preventing disputes, it is essential to revisit its provisions periodically, ensuring that it continues to serve the objectives of national integration and harmony.

The Act, in its current form, raises questions about its scope and application. Should it be amended to address emerging issues without compromising its core principles? How can it be leveraged to promote greater awareness of India's rich religious heritage and the importance of preserving it for future generations? These are some of the questions that the NIC delves into, bringing together diverse perspectives to chart a way forward. 🌍

With this, we formally launch the committee, and we are enthusiastic about your participation.

Greetings

It is with great pride and a profound sense of responsibility that we introduce a new segment under our Uthan - Youth Parliament scheduled on 15th and 16th October, this session will all be about β€œReviewing The Social Protection Systems, Access to Public Services and Sustainable Infrastructure for Gender Equality”. It’s a highly important topic that needs discussion and we’ll replicate the same under the process similar to UNCSW.

We’ll begin by introducing UNCSW to you. The United Nations Commission on The Status of Women is a very important international body. It is a global body dedicated to promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. The UNCSW holds annual sessions to discuss and make recommendations on women's issues and gender equality.

This youth parliament will focus on the sections of society that’re often ignored or far-included from the idea of development, alongside this - we’ll talk about the great importance of generating that infrastructure that’ll enable these conversations.

We’ll explore the Social Protection System for minorities, for people who don’t have access to much money/ muscle power in today’s world.

The importance of Public Services and how there’s a huge-gap between formulation and implementation of such services and if many of them are even sustainable, as we know them.

Gender bias, the connection of β€˜gender’ to other aspects of daily life is indeed a topic worth contemplating over and we’ve to go through the gaps and cracks to understand such issues.

If you want to debate, analyze and learn new perspectives on how such issues shape the future of the country, you’re more than welcome to be a part of this vibrant discussion.

Greetings

We are delighted and honored to present the UNGA Committee as a part of Uthan - Youth Parliament scheduled on 15th and 16th October. This committee represents the essence of global cooperation and the dynamic exchange of perspectives that defines our world.

The UNGA plays a vital role in the global governance, including the adoption of resolutions, addressing key global challenges, and promoting the work of the UN. It is a crucial institution in the international system, where the voice of the nations is heard, negotiated, and translated into actions that shape the world's future.

In the complex mosaic of the world's diversity, one goal stands out - the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 goals have sparked initiatives, collaborations, and innovations for decades, and now, they take center stage at Uthan.

By engaging in a constructive dialogue about the SDGs, we aim to explore their relevance in transforming our world, advancing development, and protecting human rights.

This marks the official start of the UNGA Committee and we are excited to have you join us in the same.
