Workshop on Livelihood for farmers and women's Empowerment
Organized by Unnati social welfare society (USWS) .
A two day workshop was organized by the unnati social welfare society (USWS) for farmer's focus ing on livelihood enhancement women empowerment and Fostering financial independence. The event was held from 7/11/2024 to and 8/11/2024 aimed at providing training to farmer women on various aspects of economic self-reliance.
1. Women Empowerment: Emphasizing the importance of women's role in agriculture and their contribution to economic growth. The session encouraged women to become self-reliant and develop confidence in managing household and business activities.
2. Formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs): Participants were educated on the process of forming SHGs, which help women collaborate and support each other in various activities such as saving, investing, and running small businesses. These groups also serve as platforms for mutual support and collective growth.
3. Small Business Development: The workshop provided practical insights into how women farmers can start small businesses, from identifying opportunities to managing resources. It included training on budgeting, marketing, and creating sustainable income sources.
4. Savings Groups (Bachat G*t): The concept of forming savings groups was also discussed, where women can save collectively and use the funds for emergencies, investments, or growing their businesses. The importance of financial discipline and group collaboration was emphasized.
Through these sessions, the participants gained valuable knowledge and skills that can help them improve their livelihood, empower themselves, and contribute positively to their families and communities. The workshop aimed to foster a sense of financial independence and entrepreneurship among farmer women.
