A Year in Books: Celebrating 2025’s Literary Adventures & Hidden Stories
As 2025 draws to a close, the Mysuru Book Clubs Charitable Trust reflects on a year filled with stories, spirited discussions, and unforgettable literary moments. Since 2010, our journey has been about more than reading—it’s about shared curiosity, ideas, and community. This year brought blockbuster books, thoughtful debates, and brain-boosting adventures that left us wiser and wonderfully entertained.
January began with Venki Ramakrishnan’s Why We Die—a thought-provoking exploration of mortality, science, and ethics.
February danced to history and music with Requiem in Raga Janki by Neelam Saran Gour.
March took us into Hyderabad’s past with Bhagmati, rich in culture and royal intrigue.
April inspired resilience through Katalin Karikó’s memoir Breaking Through.
May glowed gently with Banu Mushtaq’s Heart Lamp, a story of love and endurance.
June immersed us in the magic of Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude.
July celebrated the 9th Mysuru Literature Festival and voices shaping India’s literary pulse.
August challenged perspectives with Percival Everett’s Jim.
September revealed the inner workings of Big Tech through Careless People.
October offered raw honesty with Arundhati Roy’s deeply personal memoir.
November reminded us of the power of books with Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.
December brought us back to beloved authors—like revisiting old friends.
Here is to another year of words that challenge, comfort, and connect us. Until the next chapter—keep reading, keep questioning, and keep turning the pages.
