Loka Foundation is non-profitable trust that was formed in 2021 by like minded people who have an intention to work towards creating livelihood for the tribal and rural community at N Begur, which is 75kms from Mysore in Karnataka, INDIA. Empower tribal / village communities (especially women) in N Begur village in Mysore district by creating income generating opportunities.
2. Revive and up-

liftment of tribal / village societies through art & crafts such as textile, natural dye, ceramic, and handloom activities, mud architecture and overall holistic living methods, etc. Construction of mud-based buildings to revive traditional architecture
b. Skills training in [dye making / handloom / jewelry / furniture / daily utility items / pottery/ food items]
c. Holistic living methods [natural farming/ natural medicines/ sustainable cleaning agents / sustainable living]
4. Research on tribal oral history to document the knowledge for sustainable living.
5. To facilitate and provide protection against abuse of tribal / village human rights.
6. Creating and promoting an online platform to showcase refined skills and quality products for market consumption. Revival and preservation of tribal / village skills for future generations.
2. Ensuring financial stability through income and savings for every tribal / village woman in N Begur.
3. Build collaborative efforts with international artists, designers and the villagers to create some great artwork that is appreciated worldwide.
4. Implement the Make-in-India concept at the grass root level by implementing traditional knowledge, local materials, sustainable methods and collaboration.
5. Collaborate and partner with local, national and international (women) platforms to sell products made in N Begur village, Mysore India.
6. Develop an online presence to promote, share knowledge and sell various local quality products to consumers so it benefits the artisans directly.
7. Authenticate produce made by tribal / village artisans and narrate the story of each artisan through technology. What will Loka Foundation do
Loka will create studios where natural fiber items can be made or fabrics can be dyed using natural dyes and create organic farms that will be sustainable. A team of professionals will live at the N Begur village to work with the community to train them, create awareness maintain quality standards & have a marketing channel for a circular economy and fair share. Loka will have artist’s residency programs. Who will benefit
