ISAY - India Safe Abortion Youth Advocates

ISAY - India Safe Abortion Youth Advocates Let's talk about safe abortion. Let's support women's rights. Let's break away from the roots of patriarchy. Let's be the change that is long overdue.

Medical students from Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai participated in a series of Youth Advocacy Institutes and Refresher conducted by the Asia Safe Abortion Partnership over 2016-17. Some of the participants were very committed to taking the work forward and to contribute towards raising awareness and improving access for safe abortion services, within and outside their institutions. We

have come together, starting out as a team of 11 Youth Champions, and growing, to set up an advocacy group on a voluntary basis. The road ahead seems long, but we are willing to put in the effort and the hardwork to create a better world where access to safe abortion services becomes a human right for women in our country.

A discovery that changed modern physics:
that a uranium nucleus could split — a process later called nuclear fission.

But the scientist who explained it didn’t receive the recognition the discovery deserved.

Lise Meitner provided the theoretical explanation for nuclear fission and helped guide the breakthrough.

Yet the 1944 Nobel Prize in Chemistry went solely to Otto Hahn.

A reminder of the Matilda Effect — when women’s scientific contributions are overlooked while others take the spotlight.

Same product. Same purpose. Different price—just because it’s “for women.”
That’s the pink tax. 💸

Next time you shop, look twice. You’re probably paying more than you should.

A discovery that changed how we understand heredity:
that biological s*x is determined by X and Y chromosomes — a cornerstone in genetics and the study of DNA.

But the scientist behind it didn’t receive the recognition the discovery deserved.

A quiet reminder of the Matilda Effect — when women’s scientific contributions fade into the background while others take the spotlight.

Swipe to find out who she is.
