This Women’s Day, Karunya Trust celebrated with our 450+ rural beneficiaries through a day full of dance, drama, music and community spirit. Tribal women lit up the stage, while our blind MS-CIT beneficiaries stole hearts with their singing and dancing.

We were honoured by the presence of Archbishop Sebastian Vaniyapurakkal, Chairman, Fr. Lijo Velliyamkandathil, Director, and Anna Joy, Deputy CEO, Concern India Foundation, as Guest of Honour.

The celebration was also graced by Pranita Tembhe, Sarpanch, Navgaon-Bapsai, Deepak Chaughule, Administrative Officer, Panchayat Samiti Ambernath, and Alka Mengal, CLA Member.

Certificates and gifts were distributed to the participating women, celebrating their talent, confidence and resilience.
A stage full of women owning their voice.

It felt like the world walked into our classroom!!!!

Students from Indonesia, Myanmar, Iran, South Africa, Gambia and Mauritius spent the day with our kids sharing stories about home, playing musical chairs (which got very competitive), dreaming big on the Dream Tree, and ending it all with hot Indomie noodles.

Different countries. Different journeys. Same laughter.
Days like this remind us that exposure changes everything 🤍

Christmas at Karunya came in many versions 🎄

Project I-SAVE marked the season by supporting the visually impaired community through ration kit distribution and MSCIT certificate felicitation, along with games and a shared meal.

Project Gyansaathi -Sustainability youth, in collaboration with Don Bosco Shelter Home, experienced a joyful celebration with cultural activities, gifts, and time spent feeling welcomed and valued.

At Project Gyansaathi- Holistic, children celebrated with magic shows, drama, Christmas tree making, and festive snacks.

Project Savli brought children and parents together through carol singing, card making, dance performances, and shared meals.

Different projects, one shared message, Christmas is about dignity, togetherness, and showing up with care. ✨

A big day in Kolhewadi, Shilthakurwadi, Dhamanwadi, and Savroli, Badlapur. Under Project Nivas, we laid the foundation for 7 new homes with 70 beneficiaries standing right there, watching their future take shape.

The foundation laying ceremony was led by Fr. George Vattamattathil, Trustee of Karunya Trust, in the presence of Fr. Lijo Velliyamkandathil, Executive Director of Karunya Trust.

A proud moment for our communities! 🩵
Karunya Trust in collaboration with Fugro India, inaugurated 15 sanitation units across Chavare, Rayte, and Mhasrundi, empowering families with safe and dignified sanitation facilities. We also held the Bhoomipoojan for the next 16 units coming up in the Kalyan block on 1st December 2025.

The occasion was joined by Mr. Bebu Nayak (Country Head of Fugro India), Mr. Anant Keshav, and Ms. Sarika Ranadive from Fugro India.

Beneficiaries cut the ribbons to open their units, and inspections confirmed excellent construction quality.

We’re excited about future possibilities in water management, solar energy, and more sustainable development projects. ✨

I am a Changemaker… Are you???

My name is Ravi, and I’m from Chembur. I am a children parliament (CP) member of Project Savli- Karunya Trust. Children’s Parliament federation helps and encourages young children to bring about a social change in society by being a change maker. The Children’s Parliament federation advocates for promoting a culture of clean and safe environment through its various programs. I have participated in the various programmes organized for the cause of safe environment under the banner “Pro-Eco” which is a campaign of Project Savli CP.

Savli CP has empowered me and few of my friends who too are the members of the Children’s Parliament to take an initiative to find a solution to the broken drainage line which was adding to the pollution in our locality in Chembur. We took a written application with signatures of 250 residents in the locality and submitted the letter to the M-Ward BMC Department of Sewage, initially they didn`t take notice of it, but our constant follow up with the BMC department got the work done by fixing the concrete slabs for the drainage line within a weeks’ time.

I’m very proud that I could be a channel of change in my locality, and I wish to do a lot in the near future. I thank Savli project and the Children’s Parliament for encouraging me and teaching me to be a change maker.
