People with disfigurement do not need reservations but preferences.

ABOUT US
Disfigurement is defined as an altered physical appearance which can be congenital, due to accidents, burn injuries, surgical intervention, skin deformities, illnesses or any other reason. People with disfigurement have been widely portrayed as evil, fearful, and unsightly in folk tales, literature, mythology, movies and media. There is an invisible social barrier that subtlety ostracizes

the disfigured subjecting them to discrimination in the community, at work, and in their daily social interaction. Irrespective of the scale of disfigurement which can be from mild to severe or from hidden to apparent, creates a disturbing impact on the individual carrying it. In a society which conforms to prevailing ideas of what constitutes beauty, an attitude of ignorance and even discrimination is formed towards the physically ‘different’, less attractive and deformed persons. Besides the physical disability or deformity the social implications of the injury and the ability to reintegrate is an added burden on the individual. OUR PROGRAMME

Aware, Sensitise & Advocate Disfigurement:
The organisation has taken on to conduct one talk each month at any platform, venue, different audiences to address this issue and challenge stereotypes to help facilitate in bridging the gap between the disfigured and the non-disfigured. Our efforts in this area are to sensitise employers and influence them to include a percentage of people to be part of their workforce and train them to be skillfully employed. A NOTE:
If you feel that what we do is important and needs to be supported we accept FINANCIAL and NON-FINANCIAL donations.
