ACIW Mumbai

Founded in 1928, we are the American Club for International Women in Mumbai. The American Club for International Women (ACIW) Mumbai is a members-only club.

It is Mumbai's oldest Expatriate Club, for expat women of all nationalities. Founded in 1928, we started with 13 members and are now close to 200 women of varied nationalities. ACIW is a social club which does also work with Mumbai registered charities. The Club's Board and Committee Members are volunteers, who dedicate their time, efforts and energy to create social activities for membership as w

ell as manage the Club’s support of charities. ACIW is registered with FAWCO, the Federation of American Women Clubs Overseas, who do amazing charity work across the world with partners such as the UN. We moderate this page to keep it relevant and useful for members. Types of posts that are encouraged and will be approved:
1. Questions about life in Mumbai - because sometimes google just doesn’t have the answer (though please google first!)

2. Is there an event that you are planning to attend and think other ACIW members might also like to join? Please share and include a note about why you are going. If you are just sharing an ad - that will not be posted.

3. Have you taken photos or videos at an ACIW event that you would like to share with the group? Please do!

4. Buy/sell/trade-will be posted on Friday’s, please include price, contact info, and neighborhood for pickup.

5. Questions about hiring staff/recommending staff/looking for staff-please include your contact information on the post.

6. NGO posts-do you volunteer with an NGO, are you doing work that you want to share with fellow members? Feel free to share.

7. Promotional posts-we like to limit the number of promotional posts on this page, if there is an event that you are sponsoring and would like to promote to members of the club, send a message to [email protected] to discuss collaborating. Why might I see posts about businesses on this page? As you know, ACIW hosts coffee mornings throughout the year, and most of these coffee mornings take place at local businesses. We will allow occasional postings from these businesses during the year that they have hosted us. Additionally we will occasionally share postings from club sponsors, if you know of an organization that is interested in sponsoring the club, have them email [email protected].
