After Adam and Eve sin, they hide. And God comes walking in the garden, calling out one question: *"Where are you?" (Genesis 3:9).*
Stop there.
God isn't asking because He lost them. He knows exactly where they are.
The One who sees everything asks a question He already knows the answer to. Not to locate them, but to draw them out. The first thing God does after sin enters the world isn't to strike. It's to seek.
That's the tone for the whole rest of the Bible. Sin sends us into hiding; God comes looking.
He asks Adam "Where are you?" - and centuries later, in the flesh, He says it plainly: "the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10).
Same God. Same heart. From the very first sin, He has been the One walking toward us, calling.
You might be hiding right now - from shame, from failure, from Him. Listen. That's not the sound of God giving up on you.
That's the sound of Him coming into the garden, still asking, "Where are you?" Not to condemn you. To bring you home.
