*AKI Makes History – MCA Summer Camp Selection Report*
*Subject:* Outstanding Performance of AKI Players in MCA U-14, U-16 & U-19 Summer Camp Selections

*Date:* 17 April 2026
*Overview*
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) conducted its annual Summer Camp for U-14, U-16, and U-19 categories to identify and groom young talent across Mumbai. The camp is a crucial step in the MCA talent pipeline that feeds into state and BCCI-level age-group tournaments.

*AKI’s Achievement*
*Alhamdulillah! AKI creates a milestone this year.*
- *21 boys* from AKI attended the MCA selection trials.
- *11 boys* successfully secured selection in the MCA Summer Camp at their respective centres – a selection rate of over 50%.

*MCA Selection & Training Pathway*
1. *Summer Camp & Tournament:* After selection, MCA conducts an inter-camp tournament for all selected players in May.
2. *Shortlisting of Top 60:* Based on tournament performance, MCA publishes a list of *60 players in each age category*.
3. *Off-Season Practice:* The shortlisted 60 players undergo *3 months of intensive training* under MCA-appointed coaches. These sessions are termed *“MCA Off-Season Practice”*.
4. *Team Formation & Final Trial:* Post off-season, the 60 players are divided into *4 teams in each category* for a final assessment tournament.
5. *State Team Selection:* Top performers from this tournament are directly selected to *represent the Mumbai State Team in BCCI age-category .

On 07th April, 2026, Poona Institute of Management Sciences and Entrepreneurship proudly hosted its Convocation Ceremony, marking a milestone filled with pride, emotion, and accomplishment.
The ceremony was graced by our esteemed dignitaries —
Chief Guest, Hon. Mr. Hani Ahmed Farid, General Secretary of AKI Trust,
Guest of Honour, Respected Dr. Hanif Lakdawala, Chairman of PIMSE & Trustee of AKI,
Director, Dr. Porinita Banerjee, Dr Sadiya Phugawala, Head HR AKI , along with the entire teaching and non teaching staff of PIMSE .
The unveiling of new initiatives, the recognition of outstanding toppers, and the heartfelt felicitation of our graduating batch made the occasion truly unforgettable.
