31st Oct - Bamboo Walking Race (Waah Jawl) & Archery (Dahsan Dah Hap)
1st Nov - Bamboo Swimming (Hpawng Sumjawng) & Bamboo Raft Competition (Wawn Sumjawng)

1. One participant can join only ONE sport
2. Only 15 participants per sport - First Come, First Serve
3. Only efficient swimmers will be enrolled for swimming
4. 1st, 2nd & 3rd winners will be rewarded

SDS entrusts youth with organising 43rd Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi at Miao

TMT | MIAO | 18 October 2026: Recognising the power, dedication and vibrant spirit of its younger generation, the Singpho Development Society (SDS), the apex body of the Singpho community in India, has constituted the organising committee for the 43rd Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi, entrusting the youths with the responsibility of carrying forward one of the community’s most cherished cultural traditions.

The four-day cultural festival is scheduled to be held at Miao in Changlang district from February 12 to 15. This will mark the second consecutive year that Miao hosts the grand celebration of Singpho heritage, identity and unity.

Highly impressed by the relentless hard work and remarkable contribution of the youths behind the resounding success of the 42nd edition, the SDS has once again placed its faith in their abilities, allowing the younger generation to take the lead in organising the upcoming festival. This decision arrived in a meeting convened by the SDS at the festival ground here Sunday.

Under the newly constituted committee, Pisi Suriya Singpho has been appointed President, Pinna K. Singpho General Secretary, Jowong Tingwa Working President, and Indien Gamseng, the head of MSRH, appointed as Assistant Secretary. Kumku Lungseng and Pisi Zausan were appointed conveners.

An advisory committee has also been formed, comprising former MLA and N’khumsang Chief K. G. Singpho, Pisigam Singpho, Phupyong Singpho, Jowkhong Singpho, Innao Maila and Nongown Tingwa.
The organising committee will appoint members to the remaining posts as required.

By entrusting the festival to its youths, the SDS has re-affirmed its confidence in the next generation, not merely as organisers of a cultural event, but as custodians of a rich ancestral legacy.

The 43rd Shapawng Yawng Manau Poi is expected to provide another vibrant platform to celebrate Singpho traditions, strengthen community bonds and pass the timeless spirit of Manau to generations yet to come.

Yesterday's Anti-Drugs Awareness Rally and Programme at Miao was a grand success.

On behalf of MIAO Singpho RAMMA HPUNG, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and heartfelt thanks to all the organizers who took this great initiative.

A special mention and big salute to the students of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Miao, who participated in such a large number. Your active participation shows that our young generation is aware and ready to fight against drugs.

We would like to extend our special gratitude to Mrs. Pinna Kitnal Muklom Singpho, Secretary General, Singpho Women Organisation India, who led yesterday's rally at Miao with great dedication and strong leadership. Her inspiring guidance made this programme more powerful and successful. Thank you Madam for leading from the front.

Drugs is the biggest threat to our society today. As you all know, since the civil unrest in Manipur, the More route has been closed, and illegal drugs and substances are continuously entering through our Jairampur - Nampong - Pangsau Pass Gate route. At such a crucial time, the unity shown by all of you by coming together is truly commendable.

This was not just a rally, it was a pledge to save our future generation.

Miao Singpho Ramma hpung will always stand shoulder to shoulder with all of you in such noble causes.
