A newly constructed Sulabh Public Toilet Complex was inaugurated at Sector 6, GH-2, in the Gandhinagar Municipal area, in the gracious presence of several distinguished dignitaries.
The ceremony was led by Hon’ble Mayor of Gandhinagar, Smt. Meera Ben Patel. Dignitaries present included:
Shri Gaurang Bhai Vyas, Chairman, Standing Committee;
Shri Mahendra Bhai Das, Councillor;
Shri J. N. Vaghela, Municipal Commissioner, GMC;
Shri Jagannath Khasnis, Assistant Municipal Commissioner;
Shri J. M. Burania, Deputy Municipal Commissioner;
Shri Sandip Gohil, Assistant Director, GMC;
Shri Somchandran, Sanitation Superintendent, GMC;
and Ms. Yashoda Bidhuri, Boeing India.
The 10-seater facility has been thoughtfully designed with inclusive and gender-sensitive features, including sanitary pad vending machines, an incinerator for safe disposal, hand dryers, and a dedicated unit ensuring accessibility and dignity for specially-abled individuals.
This initiative has been made possible through the generous CSR support of Boeing India, reflecting a strong commitment towards improving public sanitation infrastructure and community well-being.
The construction and ongoing maintenance of the facility are being undertaken by the Sulabh International School of Action Sociology and Sociology of Sanitation, continuing its mission to promote hygiene, sanitation, and dignity for all.
