Field Visit | Moga, Punjab

A field visit was conducted at farmers’ fields in Gajiana and Rama villages of Moga to assess the standing maize crop.

The crop is showing promising growth and development and is expected to be ready for harvesting by the end of September. Farmers are optimistic about achieving a good yield this season.

We held an insightful Awareness Programme today at KVK Bongaigaon under the project "Enhancement of Maize Production in Catchment Areas of Ethanol Industries."

Highlights from today:

🌽 जमरू में मक्का उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने की दिशा में IIMR की पहल

जमरू, गोरखपुर में ICAR–Indian Institute of Maize Research (ICAR–IIMR)द्वारा “Enhancement of Maize Production in Catchment Areas of Ethanol Industries” परियोजना के अंतर्गत जागरूकता एवं प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया।

👨‍🌾 300+ किसानों की सहभागिता, जिसमें महिला किसानों की भी सक्रिय भागीदारी रही।
🌱 किसानों को वैज्ञानिक मक्का उत्पादन, संतुलित पोषक तत्व प्रबंधन, सिंचाई एवं आधुनिक कृषि तकनीकों की जानकारी दी गई।
🧪 100 किसानों को Bio-Zinc एवं NPK वितरित किए गए।
🌽 क्षेत्र में 25 एकड़ के मक्का प्रदर्शन* स्थापित किए गए हैं, जो किसानों को उन्नत उत्पादन तकनीकों का व्यावहारिक अनुभव प्रदान कर रहे हैं।

यह पहल किसानों की उत्पादकता एवं आय बढ़ाने के साथ-साथ मक्का को एथेनॉल उद्योग की बढ़ती मांग से जोड़ने* की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

An Awareness-cum-Training Programme was organised today at Jamru Village, Berhampur, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, under the Catchment Area Project.

Farmers, including women farmers, actively participated in the programme. Experts from KVK Belipar, Corteva, and Syngenta delivered informative lectures on improved maize cultivation practices, focusing on scientific crop management for enhanced productivity.

🌱 25-acre maize demonstrations have been established in the area. The crop is currently at the tasseling stage, showing excellent growth and crop stand, reflecting the potential of improved production practices.

Through such field-level interventions, the project continues to strengthen farmer awareness, adoption of improved technologies, and sustainable maize production.

Awareness-cum-Input Distribution Programme | Khatra, Bankura

Today, an Awareness-cum-Input Distribution Programme was conducted at Khatra Village, Bankura District, West Bengal, with the aim of promoting improved maize production practices among farmers.

As part of the programme, farmers were provided with Bio-Zn, Bio-NPK and DHM 206 maize variety to encourage the adoption of improved and sustainable crop management practices.

The programme focused on enhancing farmers’ awareness, strengthening input access, and promoting scientific maize cultivation for better productivity and farm profitability. 🌽

Training & Awareness Programme on Maize Production and Management

A Training and Awareness Programme was organised at Anandanagar, Krishnanagar-II Block, under the “Enhancement of Maize Production in Catchment Area of Ethanol Industries” project of ICAR–Indian Institute of Maize Research (ICAR-IIMR), in coordination with the NDRI Office and BCKV.

The programme was conducted with the participation of Dr. Sanjay Ray, Senior Entomologist, along with the reporting officer and team. 40 farmers participated and were sensitised on best maize management practices, improved hybrid maize varieties, Fall Armyworm management, and quality seed production.

The programme aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and promote the adoption of improved maize technologies for enhanced productivity, profitability and sustainable maize production. 🌱🌽
