ALL WANCHO WOMAN WELFARE SOCIETY MARKS INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY with Warm Community Celebration

8.03.2026: The All Wancho Women Welfare Society (AWWWS) celebrated International Women’s Day with a small yet warm and meaningful gathering, bringing together women from different villages to honour the strength, resilience, and achievements of women within the community.

The programme began with an inspiring opening song, “Komal Hai Kamzor Nahi,” symbolizing that while women may be gentle, they are never weak. The song beautifully set the tone for the celebration, reflecting the courage and determination of womanhood.
During the event, participants shared their life experiences, personal journeys of empowerment, and the achievements of women in the community. These heartfelt stories encouraged many other women present to step forward with confidence and pursue their aspirations.

In her address, AWWWS President Mrs. Phesa Wangcha spoke about the importance of solidarity among women, emphasizing that true empowerment begins when women uplift and support one another. Phamsa Saham, Assistant General Secretary (AGS) of AWWWS, also shared insightful reflections on the significance of celebrating International Women’s Day and the continued need to recognise the contributions and rights of women in society.

Women representatives from various village Women Welfare Societies attended the programme, making it a meaningful platform for connection, encouragement, and shared inspiration.

The celebration concluded on a joyful note with a traditional folk song and dance initiated by the Khajan Women Society, filling the gathering with cultural pride and collective happiness.

The event ended with smiles, laughter, and a strong sense of unity as the women shared moments of joy, love, and independence—making the day a truly memorable celebration of womanhood. ✨🌸

Our very young and beautiful girl of Longding district Ms. Gamnya Jingdam, who hold the tittles of MMT Top Model 2022, Miss TCL 2nd Runner Up 2023 and Looks Mr. & Miss Northeast 2023 has been selected as Cabin Crew member in India's leading Airline Indigo.

For the world, this may be just another story, but for Ms. Jingdam, hailing from a remote corner of Arunachal Pradesh, it shatters the roof that once limited women’s dreams and hopes. It’s a step that open doors to many in the community.

The day turned into a colorful, memorable spectacle, honoring women achievers and igniting the spirit of change. May this wave of empowerment continue to shine in our community!

जीवन के इस चक्र का एक अहम हिस्सा कहलाती है नारी, हर पल हर मोड़ पर साथ निभाना जानती है नारी। कभी समझाती है, तो कभी डांटकर सही काम को करवाना जानती है नारी... मजबूती से सबका हाथ थामे नजर आती है नारी। बदलते समाज के साथ अपने विचारों को लोगों तक पहुंचाना सीख चुकी हैं। इसलिए ही तो आज सम्मान से कोई गवर्नर तो कोई देश की रक्षा कर रही हैं। हर फर्ज को अच्छे से निभा रही हैं। इसी फर्ज और सम्मान के लिए हर साल 8 मार्च को इंटरनेशनल वुमन्‍स डे सेलिब्रेट किया जाता है।

CM'S ARRIVAL AND INAUGURATION OF WATER CONNECTIVITY IN LONGDING DISTRICT

16th March 2024,Longding: On 16th March 2024, a very significant event took place in Longding Town, as the Chief Minister (CM) Shri. Pema khandu Ji arrived to inaugurate the water connectivity project aimed at providing essential water supply to every household of Longding town. The event not only marked a milestone in the development of Longding District but also showcased the government's commitment to improving infrastructure and quality of life in the district.
Amidst much anticipation and excitement, the Chief Minister arrived at the venue accompanied by Tapir Gao ji, MP East Constituency of Arunachal Pradesh, government officials and dignitaries. The arrival was met with cheers and applause from the gathered crowd, demonstrating the enthusiasm and support of the local community for the developmental initiatives.
Following a brief introduction and ceremonial rituals, the Chief Minister officially inaugurated the water connectivity project. This initiative aimed to address the longstanding issue of water scarcity in Longding Town, ensuring a reliable and sustainable water supply for its residents. The inauguration symbolized a significant step towards achieving the goal of equitable access to basic amenities for all citizens.

As part of the welcoming ceremony, the executive members of the All Wancho Women Welfare Society (AWWWS) organization presented a vibrant welcome song to honor the Chief Minister and his delegation. Their performance was characterized by great enthusiasm and energy, reflecting the collective spirit of the community in welcoming the esteemed guests and celebrating the occasion.
The Department of Public Health Engineering and Department (PHED), Longding, played a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the water connectivity project in Longding Town. Their comprehensive presentation provided valuable insights into the project's objectives, methodologies, and anticipated outcomes, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of the initiative among stakeholders.
The event witnessed active participation from Minister of Science & Technology,RWD, Shri. Honchun Ngandam, Hon’ble MLAs Tanpho Wangnow ji and Gabriel D. Wangsu, various stakeholders, CBOs, including local authorities, and residents. Their presence underscored the significance of the water connectivity project and highlighted the collaborative efforts required to address the development needs of the region effectively.
In his address, the Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the people of Longding for their unwavering support and emphasized the government's commitment to prioritizing rural development initiatives. He reiterated the importance of infrastructure projects like water connectivity in improving the standard of living and fostering socio-economic growth in remote areas. His focus is various development sectors like Health,Education, Tourism and heritage of the Wancho community.
The event marked a momentous occasion in the history of Longding District, as the inauguration of water connectivity not only addressed a pressing need but also symbolized progress and prosperity for the community. The enthusiastic participation and warm reception by the executive members of AWWWS and other stakeholders further underscored the collective determination to usher in positive change and development in the region. Overall, the event served as a testament to the government's dedication to inclusive growth and empowerment, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and advancement of all citizens, especially those residing in rural and underserved areas like Longding.
