Gosoku Ryu is best translated as hard- fast style. ‘Gosoku Ryu’ primarily a realistic school with its techniques and philosophy assures survival in the street. Street fight, a situation where there is no time for courtesies is not unfamiliar to the people of modern society. The student must develop an attitude that he can & will do anything necessary for his survival. In Gosoku Ryu student learns
to compress and control his power and harness & direct it with force to devastate his opponent with remarkable speed. ‘Gosoku Ryu’ develops in its students an attitude that he can and he will definitely prevail over and completely disable his opponent without being hurt himself.
‘GO’ means hard & Power, ‘SOKU’ means speed, ‘RYU’ is style. Gosoku Ryu originally developed by Grandmaster Soke Kubota in the 1950’s with his concern of teaching to children and young people of society & his unique ideas. It took several years of relentless work to develop basic structure of Gosoku Ryu karate. Further research and improvement made it the most practical & versatile style of karate.
“Gosoku Ryu’ teaches free style fighting or kumite where student learns to refine & interpret traditional movements according to his own physical and spiritual needs. Always learning and incorporating new skills, he will use these skills freely and spontaneously to effectively counter the opponents lethal attacks.
