Dhun Adenwalla saw potential where others saw limitation. Sixty-two years ago, she refused to accept a world that had closed its doors to deaf children. With quiet determination and boundless love, she built the Oral School for Deaf Children. Not just as an educational institution, but as a sanctuary where a child’s hearing loss would never define their future.
She made silence heard.
Hundreds of students, and one woman’s refusal to accept that deaf children deserved anything less than everything.
Dhun Adenwalla believed fiercely: “A deaf child is no different from a hearing child.”
She didn’t just say it. She built it. She lived it. We are still living it.
Thank you, Mrs. Adenwalla. For the school. For the belief. And for showing us what love and conviction look like. ❤️
