On 27 November 2025, CLPR Senior Research Associate Vineeth Krishna engaged with nearly 80 students and faculty at Amrita International Law School on Indian constitutional history and law. Participants examined a range of primary materials related to constitutional history and discussed how these sources help illuminate contemporary developments in law, politics, and society.

CLPR was pleased to engage with the inaugural batch of students and faculty at Amrita International Law School, a new institution based in Coimbatore, as part of its Constitution Day celebrations.

On a January morning in 1949, as the Constituent Assembly debated India's future Constitution, a modest typewritten letter travelled from Bombay to New Delhi. Addressed to the Assembly’s Secretary, it carried the voice of a now-forgotten organisation—the Bombay Civil Liberties Union (BCLU). Enclosed was a resolution proposing nine fundamental rights.

CLPR Senior Research Associate & Editor Vineeth Krishna conducted a Constitutional History Education Workshop for 30 school teachers from various Kolkata schools. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Progressive Educational Techniques Society (PETS) and the Seagull Foundation for the Arts, Kolkata on 13th September 2025. The session explored India’s constitutional history, shared effective pedagogical methods for teaching constitutional topics, and discussed key challenges faced by teachers in the classroom.
