Report on Bee Rearing Training Programme at BMMU Kanubari

Event: Training on Bee Rearing for SHG and Progressive Farmers

Under the aegis of Arunachal Honey and Bee Mission (AHBM), Longding

Objective :
The training aimed to promote scientific bee-keeping practices among Self Help Groups (SHGs) and progressive farmers of Longding district to enhance honey production, create sustainable livelihoods, and support pollination for agricultural crops under the Arunachal Honey and Bee Mission.

Key Highlights
1.Capacity Building: Participants were imparted technical knowledge on bee rearing, hive management, honey extraction, and disease/pest control in apiculture.
2. Equipment Support: Bee-keeping equipment was distributed to 5 prospective Honey Producers group to facilitate immediate adoption of apiculture as an income-generating activity.
3. Target Beneficiaries: The programme focused on SHGs and progressive farmers to encourage community-based entrepreneurship and diversify farm income.
4. Mission Alignment: The event supports AHBM’s goal of making Arunachal Pradesh a hub for organic honey and improving rural livelihoods through apiculture.

Outcome
The training provided both technical know-how and material support to participants, enabling them to start/expand bee-keeping units. This initiative is expected to boost honey production in Longding, generate self-employment, and strengthen the rural economy in Kanubari block.

Mopakhat based Tamzing and Nyowang Primary Level Federation (PLF) office inauguration program took place today with ADO Kanubari as the chief guest and CTO KVK LONGDING as the Guest of Honour. BMMU officials and PRIs members attended the event as special invitees. The inauguration aims to strengthen grassroots development and empower women-led community institutions, reflecting a shift towards community-driven development.

November 30, 2025 , ArSRLM BMMU Kanubari has made a significant stride in empowering rural communities by launching three new Self Help groups in Sangsatham village, integrating 21 new members into the DAY-NRLM forum.

This achievement is a testament to the tireless efforts of Cluster incharge Ms Miter Bomjen and the BMMU team, who are dedicated to bridging the gap and connecting every rural household with vital government welfare schemes.

November 29, 2025 marked a momentous occasion as we successfully launched the 'KAMMAI PRIMARY LEVEL FEDERATION OFFICE' at Kamkah, a testament to the tireless efforts of the BMMU Kanubari Arunachal state Rural Livelihoods Mission.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including our learned ADC Shri Yashwant Meena, IAS of Kanubari, and Shri Kiran Kumar Singh, Chief Technical Officer of KVK Longding, in the presence of GB, chief, and BMMU staff. This milestone celebrates the power of collective action, as seven women SHGs have come together to drive positive change and uplift their community in a truly transformative way.

The Community-Based Recovery Mechanism (CBRM) Committee Formation Programme was successfully conducted on 2nd July 2025 at SBI Kanubari. The programme aimed to strengthen loan recovery systems through community-based interventions and witnessed active participation from various stakeholders. The event established a foundation for coordination between ArSRLM and SBI Kanubari for financial inclusion and capacity building of SHG members. The CBRM Committee was formally constituted to promote credit discipline, financial awareness, and community-led development.
