Orientation & Awareness Programme on Innovation & Start-ups | Day 1 & 2

An Orientation & Awareness Programme on Innovation & Start-ups was organized at Mahapat Mahavidyalaya, Janghira, Harichandanpur, with the participation of around 90–100 students across the two-day programme.

The sessions focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, start-up opportunities and self-employment, encouraging young minds to explore entrepreneurship as a pathway to self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.

Along with insightful discussions on identifying opportunities and transforming innovative ideas into viable businesses, students were introduced to relevant DIC schemes and the handholding support available through the EDII–DMF UDYAMI Project.

Turning Ideas into Opportunities!

At the Champua MERC Office, aspiring entrepreneurs came together to discover how government support can help transform business ideas into sustainable ventures.

Through an interactive session under DMF-Udyami, participants explored key schemes such as PMEGP, PMFME, and MKUY, gaining insights into eligibility, loans, subsidies, financial assistance, and the application process.

With the support of the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Keonjhar, EDII continues to spearhead entrepreneurial interventions across the district, empowering aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to take their ideas forward.

In Keonjhar District, across all 7 blocks, our EDII–DMF-UDYAMI Project is bringing hope and self-reliance to every Gram Panchayat.

Through community awareness meetings, our Block Project Officers (BPOs) and Udyami Mitras connect deeply with villagers. EDII team explains government schemes in simple, everyday language, so everyone can understand what's available to them and how to benefit.

Awareness is the first step towards change. In mining-affected areas, it means discovering opportunities and knowing where to turn for skill development, government schemes or a path towards self-reliance.

She took a leap of faith and invested in paper plate making machine. With entrepreneurship training under the DMF Udyami Project, she turned that leap into a livelihood — selling 50,000 plates and earning Rs. 1,00,000 in just two months.
