We're thrilled to share the success of the PRI program conducted by CCRN (Concern for Child Rights Network) in Sirumaiyalur Panchayat, organized by World Trust!

This groundbreaking event aimed to educate and empower community members on Child Rights, shedding light on the invaluable work done by ACDS and CCRN in the Sirumaiyalur community over the past years.

During the program, we celebrated a significant milestone as Chengalpattu District Collector declared 10 panchayats as child marriage free villages, marking a huge step forward in protecting the rights and well-being of our children.

Through engaging discussions, informative sessions, and impactful presentations, participants gained valuable insights into the importance of safeguarding child rights and learned about the resources available to support children and families in need.

A heartfelt thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, and community members who made this event a resounding success! Let's continue working together to build a brighter, safer future for our children.

ACDS organized a capacity-building training for District-level Child Protection forum leaders, where Lawyer Mr. Senganal educated the leaders on various acts and laws related to children, particularly focusing on the Right to Information Act. This significant program, presided over by Dr. D. Devanbu, ACDS Director, highlights our commitment to empowering leaders to safeguard the rights of the children at all levels.
In addition, we’re happy to announce that 8 talented trainees have successfully completed their 6-month Tailoring Course at ACDS's tailoring unit in Kandigai! Under the guidance of our esteemed Director, Dr. D. Devanbu, these individuals have honed their skills and are now ready to embark on their journey in the world of fashion and craftsmanship.

Empowering Tomorrow's Change-makers!

ACDS is thrilled to have had the opportunity to enlighten the BSW students of Hindustan University on crucial topics like UNCRC, Child Rights, and POCSO Act, alongside insights into child care institutions and Laws. Our Founder and Director, Dr. D. Devanbu, passionately shared insights into UNCRC and child rights, paving the way for a generation of socially responsible citizens.

We were honored to have Mr. Ramachandran, Ex. Chairman of Child Welfare Committee, Chengalpattu District, grace us with his practical experiences and wisdom on ChildLine and child welfare committees. His expertise shed light on various acts and support systems vital for safeguarding children.

The entire session was seamlessly facilitated by Mr. D. Prince, Project Coordinator, ensuring a smooth flow of knowledge and interaction. And finally, the heartfelt vote of thanks from Ms. Archana, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Hindustan University, expressing gratitude to ACDS and our esteemed trainers.

The enthusiasm and gratitude shown by the students warmed our hearts! Their eagerness to learn and apply this knowledge for both academic and social growth is truly commendable.

🎂 Happy Birthday to our esteemed founder and director, Dr. D. Devanbu! 🎉🎈

🌟 Dr. Devanbu has been a true pioneer in championing child rights and protection in Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram Districts since 1991. As the Convenor for the Concern for Child Rights Network (CCRN), he embodies a child-friendly characteristic that has left an indelible mark on the lives of countless children.

👦👧 Over the years, Dr. Devanbu's unwavering dedication has led to the rescue and rehabilitation of numerous children facing challenges like child labor, abuse, early marriages, and those out of school. His efforts have paved the way for positive transformations, with many of these children now thriving in various aspects of life. 🏫 Particularly in the quarry and crusher areas, witness the profound changes brought about by ACDS initiatives. Thanks to Dr. Devanbu's vision, families of quarry workers have experienced transformative shifts, and their children have been empowered to thrive in society.

National Girl Child Day Celebration by ACDS

On the occasion of National Girl Child Day on January 24, 2024, ACDS organized an awareness program on the rights and protection of girl children at Government High School, Kandigai.

The program, presided over by Mrs. Anuradha, the school headmaster, was conducted under the guidance of ACDS Director Dr. D. Devanbu. ACDS staff members, including Ms. Rathiya, Ms. Baby, and Ms. Theboral, facilitated the event.

Special invitees included Ms. Anusuya, Coordinator of the District Social Welfare and Women's Rights Department, and Roslin, a Gender Specialist. Also present were Katankkolathur Union Rural Welfare Officers Ms. Pushpalatha and Ms. Kayalavizhi. They shared valuable insights on the rights and protection of girl children, emphasized the importance of the helpline number 1098 for children, addressed issues related to child marriage, the eradication of child labor, and discussed innovative women's programs.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from girl students, teachers, and government officials. School teacher Ms. Agtha expressed her gratitude towards ACDS and extended a Vote of Thanks for the impactful program.
